Made it through another damn Monday. Got a fast (for me) 6 mile run in at lunch. Back home with the wife the dogs and this damn fine Arctic Devil ('13 or '14, not sure which). Life is grand. Cheers all.

 

Really nice tart cherry raspberry sour ale with vanilla and lactose from Grimm. They do no wrong in my book. Cheers!

 

And now they're back where they should be, with soon to be the most extravagant stadium ever! (well...Except that they used to be called the L.A. Rams while in Anaheim, Orange County . Just like the damn Angels!!!)

Pretty sunny around these parts today even for a life long Raiders fan. It would have hell around here had the Patriots lost.

 

Well, risking my BA card admitting this, but three pages on a Monday? And the pahty still going on up here in some places? I feel virtually compelled to contribute a beer, but I dont feel like the picture thing...no reason, just feeling lazy and a little worn out from moving furniture for the daughter yesterday. I am comfy, got a belly full of turkey chili, left the phone camera somewhere, and I ain't movin!

So...the confession...last weekend we opened a bomber of Dogfish Head Sah'tea. It was pretty long in the tooth, but not bad. Between two people, there was still about ten ounces left in the bottle, so in went the stopper. Two of us, 9% ABV, and we had leftovers? Pathetic...hopefuly they dont deduct any kharma...

So that is what I am finishing up. And what may sound weird is I think the stoppering helped. The carbonation is not as lively as it was, but what has come out big is the juniper. An icy gin and tonic is a summertime guilty pleasure, so diggin' that flavor emerging from the rubble. It did have kind of a stale spice/chai tea flavor that seems to have subsided.

I did like it fresh, so will be looking for it to roll around at some point.

One of those 'easy to find beers' that I'm just now trying. A $1.96 for a single at the grocery store and expiration date of April I can't complain too much

 

Fort Point APA, another glass of fresh-squeezed juice from Trillium, this 6.6% abv pale features Citra and Columbus hops. 1/24/17 canning.

Lighter, and gentler, bitterness-wise, than the Trillium IPAs I had earlier, it has a floral bouquet of citrus and sweet pine on the nose. The taste has a mild sweetness of pale orchard fruits and hints of flower and wheaty grain. Feel is soft and gently carbonated and smooth.

Axl Rose turned 55 today...

His only relevant work was on Appetite for Destruction, which is one of the greatest hard rock albums of all time, despite a few songs getting heavily played out...

Axl's morphed into a soft, pale cheese creature now...


For a while he reminded me of an angry Elton John...

Two days after the Rams Super Bowl victory I hit the commissary on base. The stooge checking ID's at the door saw my Rams hat and the following conversation ensued:

Stooge: "I see we have another bandwagon fan. Where were you last year?"
Me: "Take a closer look at the hat, friend."
Stooge: "Huh?"
Me: "Read it back to me."
Stooge: "LA Rams. So what?"
Me: "LA, Einstein! LA! I've been a fan since 1967. Chew on that motherf*cker!"
