Really nice witbier from Dieu du Ciel! Feel like I haven't had this style in a while. This is a nice refreshment. Cheers!

Nice! Put that asshole in his place. I only went to one of their games as a kid, but remember being stoked on Flipper Anderson. Didn't become a fan of football til my late teens really.

Orono Brewing Company Excursion Stout. One of my favorite oatmeal stouts. Glad it's back.

#2, the barrel is REALLY forward in this excellent lager. When I first popped this open, I thought I had a diacetyl bomb. But what I had instead were the heavy vanilla notes of an exceptionally well-executed barrel-aged beer. Schell's is a true Minnesota classic.

Still drinking it's danky best. Hey....just noticed I've reached 50,000 likes. That's not the kind of thing I get too geeked up about but I have to say thank you to everyone. This has become one of my favorite on-line communities so I'd be lying if I didn't say it didn't mean anything.

1 day down, 4 to go.

The more I try from this place, the more I plan to keep coming back. Richmond is going to have a real nice trifecta with Veil, Answer, and Triple Crossing. Add in Hardywood for some killer BA stouts. It's a good time to be a beer fan.

Yesterday my wife suggests that we go to New Holland Brewery for a late lunch. Yes, that sounds good, dear I say. :sunglasses: I order the "Indiana Pork Loin Sandwich" @joe1510 . Damn was it good. I highly recommend it. I have had them before in Indiana and this was on par with those.
Drinking New Holland Mad Hatter IPA picked up from the brewery.

Secret Stairs stout, brewed with Columbus hops and a host of dark, roasty, and chocolaty malts; 1/10/17 canning; 6.5% abv...

Do the secret stairs lead to a secret society? :astonished:

No juice here - bittersweet, roasty stout suggests dark cocoa powder and cold, old black coffee; medium-weight feel, smooth, with hint of char; moderate carbonation and a drying finish. Good stuff.

Finishing up my Trillium with some Trivium...

    Cheers, all...

Good evening BA, hope everyone had a good Monday back at work. Looking to be a really slow thread so far today.

    New reviews:

This was delicious! Aromas and flavors of big melon, pear, apricot, apple, white grape, and light banana/clove/pepper yeast; with balanced caramel, honey, and toasted biscuit malt sweetness; touch of herbal hops and yeasty/lightly funky earthiness. Light herbal bitterness and yeast spice/tartness on the finish. Medium bodied with nice bready/grainy creaminess; a bit silky. Minimal dryness, but never cloying. Spot on balance between yeast and malt flavors. Great all around complexity. Never overly sweet or heavy feeling. Very drinkable and pretty refreshing. Love Biere de Garde, wish more breweries made them. Wouldn't mind grabbing a full 4 pack of this one. 4

Belgian Doppelbock? Really nice stuff. Aromas and flavors of big raisin, plum, fig, cherry, apple, banana, bubblegum, peppercorn, and clove yeast; with balanced caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, and light chocolate/nutty malts; with some herbal hop and yeasty earthiness. Moderate peppery yeast spice and light herbal bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus bodied with medium-high carbonation. Nice bready/grainy creaminess in the mouthfeel; light hop stickiness, slight chalky roast. Light-moderate dryness from carbonation; fairly crisp. Mildly warming 7.5%. A really delicious and unique brew. Balance between Belgian yeast and malt character is pretty much perfect, with impressive complexity from both yeast and malts. Classic Ommegang house yeast character going on. 3.9

This was really interesting, but great stuff! Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, lemon/orange peel, raisin, plum, apricot, fig, cherry, berries, apple, date, peppercorn, clove and light banana; with moderate brown, sugar, toffee, vanilla, coconut, bourbon, toasted oak, and bready malt/barrel notes. Light-moderate peppery yeast and bourbon/oak tannin spice on the finish. Medium-plus bodied; nice grainy creaminess; light orange peel stickiness and oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Bit of silkiness from the barrel. Lightly increasing tannic dryness. Super smooth and mildly warming 10.1%; zero barrel booze. This is huge on the tangerine peels right out of the gate; but it warms up and reveals a ton of great complexity and balance from the barrel, malt, yeast, and fruit peels. Might grab this again to age for a bit. 4

First time I've seen that. I wonder how the hell they settled on 19.2 oz. I'd happily drink it though.

Last Thursday I noticed a drip coming out the bottom of my water heater. Early this morning it was upgraded to a leak, so I called a plumber in today and got a brand new water heater installed that I hope lasts 20 years like the old one. Now I can do the dishes.
Drinking New Holland Cabin Fever brown ale.
