The guy's a ticker and realizes that he's had the beer before under a different name AKA "alias" so he spits it out because tickers ain't got time to be drinking something they've already had. I think it would still count as a tick, though.
okay so a "ticker" stands for someone that just tries to sample as many different kinds of beers as possible? that's for explaining! sometimes I don't get references on here and it just flies over my head!
This actually hits close to home. I don't like trying special cask versions of beers or beers through randalls because the variations don't count towards my ticks.
I'm talking about a beer where they add dry hops or peppers to the cask (aka Jalapeno Sculpin or Stone Ruination IPA Double Dry Hopped w/ Columbus Hops). Those would be new ticks on untappd
Those are both beers on BA (well, assuming you meant Habanero and no Jalapeno). I suppose BA only has a couple entries for Double Dry Hopped Ruination, and Untappd would have more. But regardless, it's absolutely not generally true that you can create a beer like "Ruination Double Dry Hopped with Citra and Simcoe" and have it survive, lots of those get merged into the more generic one.
That is totally NickD and he loves the attention (has commented on Trouble Brewing stuff on Facebook before) I love having something that I've already had on cask or randall. It's almost like a different beer. I had a Yards ESA on cask that was dry hopped and it might have been my favorite beer ever.
You know I was thinking the same thing the other day, he was missin from Harry's the other day for sure...
