Do you stop drinking craft beer once you get to a certain point of intoxication?

I tend not to compromise what I put in my body for a number of different reasons so I don't switch. I may go to an everyday sort of craft beer like the $15 12 packs I buy of SN or Laugunitas but if I start with those I don't switch. Start with a couple of the more expensive IPA's orDIPA's then I'll go to something simpler.

Now what level point of intoxication are you referring to? .08? So I'm not driving but I still don't feel drunk but I am intoxicated, I'm probably not switching but will slow down.

We play/use a breathalyzer a lot and you'd be surprised to find whose at what level with what they have consumed. It's also a great teaching tool to show that you don't have to wobbly drunk to be legally intoxicated.

BMC's are for geusts and friends that don't care what they drink or beer pong, beersbie and my favorite beer darts

If I wanted to get drunk - and I never do, so the poll question for me is meaningless - I'd find a much more efficient (and much less calorically-impactful) method of accomplishing that objective than drinking a bunch of beer.

If I'm overly intoxicated I just quit drinking for the night. The only time I really drink aal is when I've worked a long shift and just want something refreshing.

Nah, I reach for the bourbon.

For me it's less about level of intoxication than about social context. If I'm visiting home and am out with my brothers, or at a concert, or at one of my many favorite divey bars that maybe have some craft stuff but isn't really that kind of place, I'll grab some BMC stuff for sure. I'm not gonna be the dude asking for a draft list and the only one carrying around a glass in that kind of situation.

I never downgrade, I may switch between craft beers but will stay in the same theme. Sometimes I will change it up to Crown Royal or a really good Vodka depending on my mood.

I don't get drunk, I get tired. And no I do not switch to crappy beer. I just drink lighter good stuff instead of the 10% stuff I usually drink all night.

    I'm a solid 'no'.

I tend to be very protective of my special/fancy/expensive beers so I'll never have more than 1 or 2 of them in a night to begin with. Then I either switch to bourbon or an inexpensive, easily available craft (most often Jack's Abby or Sierra Nevada). I've barely purchased a BMC beer anywhere except a concert venue in probably 25 years, though I'll drink one if its handed to me, and I have some degree of (mostly visual) affection for Miller High Life in a bottle.

More to the point, I barely ever drink more than 3 or 4 beers in a night total. The older I get the more full beer tends to make me feel. This isn't much of a sobriety badge of honor though due to the aforementioned bourbon.

If I reach my limit I don't drink any thing but water.

If you are wasted it's time to switch to water or go to bed.

I agree with a lot of the earlier posts - if I think I am getting drunk, I stop drinking.

My go-to beers on big/late nights are usually Yuengling and Amstel Light. Beers like All Day IPA or Notch Pils usually suffice as well, but there's a slim chance I'll find fresh cans/draft of that at a bar, so I'll save the money and just drink a lighter lager.

I generally don't mix craft with Bud Light...If I'm sucking down a bunch watching the Bills game on Sunday, I don't switch to craft beer when I get home. And I never go from craft to Bud Light

If I'm at home I usually stick to the good stuff all evening. Although if I'm at a bar I usually switch over after 2-3 craft beers just to save money, those 200% mark ups at bars can get exhausting when drinking 8-10 beers. But if a local brewpub has $3-4 pints or a decent pitcher special I'll stick to it but I'm only paying $6-8 for a S.N or G.I at bdubs a couple times, it's just not worth it to me. But I'm also quite the tight ass

Once I get to a certain point (and I want to keep drinking), I switch to bourbon usually.

I don't drink to get drunk, so typically once I start to get a decent buzz on I stop drinking to avoid getting drunk and switch to a lot of water. So typically it's good beer all the time when I am drinking.

I have the same practice as others, if I'm drunk I just stop drinking. I've had about 2-3 hangovers in the last 15 years because hangovers suck as you get older.

I do enjoy adjunct lagers on occasion at restaurants, however they rarely make it to my fridge. While I usually also cut myself off, if I do continue to drink I will reach for a back of the fridge craft beer.
