I've been fried on shrooms but didn't know they're legal!

Crooked still has Persica which is awesome peach sour. Epic's Denver taproom is right around the corner and should have the Big Bad series and some sours. Our Mutual Friend is small but doing some good sours lately and bottled so easy to travel with. Mr. B's is near by and the bottle shop to hit up.

This is the best. Thanks for posting this; it's a model for how to be a beer guide

My question is a little different than the OG poster here. I am flying into DEN this Saturday in the am. I will be visiting for about 6-7 hours before heading back to DEN for my flight back home. So not a full day in Denver. I'm not into the sour thing, so I really don't need to stop in Crooked Stave (unless it's a MUST). I like my IPA's & stouts. No car. I'll be taking the train from and to DEN. Thanks a bunch in advance.

Probably easiest to train into or near the River North area. There is plenty to choose from there besides Crooked Stave, including good taprooms. Ratio, Bierstadt Lagerhaus, Finn's Manor, First Draft, Beryl, Block Bottle, Epic, Great Divide. . . . The list is pretty long. Easily enough time to kill 5-6 hours.

And crooked does have a clean side now with a few taps of IPA and a stout last time I was there. It is the brewer's section where they get to brew something different they want to try. Also if you want a wide range don't forget the beer bars (Falling Rock, Star Bar, FreshCraft). Mr Bs is a good liquor store by the baseball stadium if you want something to take home.

I know six hours seems like a lot, but you're honestly going to get about 2 hours free with the way everything works with security and the train. May be worth just hitting Freshcraft or Falling rock as they are a quick walk from Union Station.

Hi everyone! Which breweries in Denver have the best food? Or beer bars. Also, what restaurants are must visits in Denver. I know this may not be entirely beer related but I am sure there are enough restaurants that carry decent tap lists. I'll be there in about a month so I want to know if any of these place is in need of a reservation. Probably 3-4 people in our group. Thanks guys!

Food-wise, the breweries I think that have the best grub are Bull & Bush (suburban Glendale), Vine St. Pub (they're a Mountain Sun brewpub), Blue Moon, the Chophouse, and the Wynkoop. Call to Arms shares a wall with Mas Kaos, so they kinda count, too. The Koop's probably my least favorite of those, but it's still pretty good. I think the first 4 are all pretty great.

map is also missing Black Shirt and the newly opened Blue Moon

Since you're doing the train thing, just take it into Union Station. Hit up Falling Rock Tap House first, Tap Fourteen across the street both have a good amount of taps w/ CO focus (40+), Freshcraft or Euclid Hall for food & beer, Wynkoop & Jagged Mountain for breweries.

If want to visit breweries only, do what Steve_0 suggests and get off at the Blake Street & 38th station and hit up the breweries within walking distance, for food hit up either Park Burger (awesome tap list) or First Draft (which does pour your own beer sampling), then walk back to the train station and hit the one's you missed.

I wish they had some breweries down there that were a bit better than Wynkoop and Jagged Mountain :flushed:

Anyway -- I'd head straight to FRTH or Fresh Craft (5-7 minute walk) and grab a beer, then maybe feel out an Uber to RiNo , as its not really that far ( <10 minute drive)

but, most importantly, you need to secure some proper beer and those places are walkable from Union Station. Then try to figure out if you have time for a brewery.

I'm figuring I'd be landing at DEN around 9am. Train into Union St takes 35min? So around 10-1030ish arriving at Union St. Walk to Crafty Fox we could arrive by opening (11am). Have lunch and the tap list looks awesome right now. Uber it back to Union St area and then decide on which one to hit up next > Falling Rocks TapHouse. As far as brewery's....why not Great Divide over Wynkoop or Jagged @Prospero @ManBearPat? Or do I really need to hit up a brewery with most of the local pubs have all or most of the local brewery's already on their tap list? We have 2 choices to choose from for our flight back. 715pm or 1015pm. I'm thinking 715 otherwise I will be smashed by the 1015 departure. I'm sure the inside of the plane will smell like craft on the way back. So I need to be back at DEN no later than 6pm. Need to leave Union or 38th St around 5+pm. Some place to eat a quick bite (dinner) in the area anyone can recommend? @Prospero > Park Burger or First Draft or Euclid Hall? I'm thinking instead of a brewery stop maybe just go ahead and hit up Crooked Stave just because. I'll have already consumed most all IPA's by the time I stop in Crooked Stave so what ever I do have therewill mean nothing to me. Do they have food at Crooked Stave? I can't seem to get in their website.

Edit > Anything inside DEN that will have local COL craft on tap while I'm waiting for my flight? Inside the united terminal.

Do yourself a favor and go to finns manor over Euclid or first draft. Tap list is better and owlbear BBQ is there. Stave doesn't have food but comida is in the same building and they have good tacos.

Lowdown has solid beer and solid food, IMO.

For a bar, Freshcraft is always my go to answer.

If you're already going there, Crafty Fox has amazing California style pizza.

What are you flying? If out of terminal C than New Belgium has bar there with like 10 taps. If not you can find solid beer in the other terminals just not as much variety. Root Down is pretty bomb, forget what terminal it is in.

Great Divide is a far superior option to Wynkoop and/or JM

United is in Terminal A and Terminal B at DIA. At least that's what their website claims.
I like the Chophouse in Terminal A. Lefty's has some decent taps, too.
New Belgium is in B, but it's kind of hidden and way down on one end.
