Not sure when you're getting into town but Avery has another release next Sunday (10/7).

Will they still have some for sale tomorrow?

I was more impressed than anything. If you want an extra 12 tickets, you can get them from me and my girlfriend. You really shouldn't have trouble getting to your total, though, even if you need to wait for retail.

Oh, and Andy, nice job answering the bat signal so quickly, and for looking out for the local crowd with those special beers. I think to save time and money, I'll just buy a full barrel of beer from you directly for the Odio party.

They should, I just emailed them asking. They did last year. I might have a friend going up there tomorrow.

Any Crooked Stave members going to the Rumpkin release and want to "gopickitupformebro" and I can get them from you at the Crooked Stave release next Saturday? I am looking for 4 bottles but will take what I can get.

p.s. I live in Colorado Springs, so I am not just being lazy, just can't make the drive all the way up to Avery tomorrow.

I was just told they aren't selling any in the tap room today.

Ah well, I was looking forward to Odio Equum more anyway. 90% sure I'll be at the release next Sunday!

Got a couple of bottles yesterday but honestly I was a little disappointed at the special tapping prices. $5 for 5 ounces of a beer I've never had is too much for me. On the other hand, $4.50 for 10 ounces of Kaiser was fantastic!

That means more BA Tweak and BA Samael's for me! :grinning:

I'd normally agree, but I happily paid that last year for pours of Dihos Dactylion and Margarette. If a beer is good enough or promises a true experience I'll pay for it.

Or, think of it this way: you're paying $1/oz for Tweak or whatever on draft at the brewpub, or paying $.83/oz for the bottled Rumpkin you just bought to drink at home. In this sense the markup is negligible compared to the normal bottle-draft price ratio.

As far as I know they never sell any of their special releases at the tap room aside from the Release Party.

Great release yesterday! I looked for a couple of you, but didn't see anyone. BA tweak was the tits. I also enjoyed the uberschwein.

I bought the allocation if anyone needs some bottles and/or has trouble getting some when they hit shelves in the next few weeks.

If I can't find it on shelves, I would definitely like to get a couple from you. Beer or Cash, doesn't matter to me, either way.

Anyone that went want to comment on what the Rumplestoutskin was? I was hoping to make it but didn't get off work in time.

It was disappointing. First thing that came to mind was "did they mix Sprite in this." I can't recommend it.

3.5% "session stout" aged in the rumpkin barrels after they were emptied. Dissapointing... I was hoping for an Uncle Jacobs and Rumpkin blend. I ended up getting a taster of UJ and doing that blend on my own and wow, it was fantastic.

Arrving at 7:30, I was INCREDIBLY disappointed to have missed BOTH all my buddies (coreymcafee:slight_frown:) , as well as both the BA Samaels and BA Tweak. (Replacing my fuel pump took longer than expected.)

However, it was fun to see the guy behind the bar's mouth drop when I flipped him $480 cash for the two cases (lots of muling).

Andy, you don't have to address this, but I PRAY at least one of those special kegs will be a repeat on 10/7...

I'd love to see some tweak on Sunday, I missed out last year despite hitting up the brewery on three different days.

The current list for the Sunday Odio Equum release party is: Bad Apple, Rumplestoutskin, Ross's Mom, Double Dry Hopped Ale to the Chief, Uberschwein, Whiskey Barrel Samael's, Moloch, and I just added a Tweak (not barrel aged) to it. Because that's a good idea and I want to drink it.

And now I want to try an Uncle Jacob's/Rumpkin blend myself. That sounds like the start of a good party.

It's also good to hear some feedback on Rumplestoutskin. It's a random little experiment, as I wouldn't normally put a 3.5% abv beer into a barrel, but I figured it was worth a shot. It just can't stay in the barrel too long or it will certainly get infected... even in a fresh Gosling's barrel, which is what this was aged in. I can't say it's my favorite flavor combo ever, but it's an interesting little beer and certainly worth the time and effort for the experiment's sake...
