plan on making a one night stop next month on a Friday. Plan on hitting up veil. Heard good things about the answer and triple cross. Looking for a good area to stay in. And other places to eat and drink at.

Ardent is 2 blocks from Veil, and you should consider Hardywood. Can't speak for lodgings.

There is a comfort inn right around the corner from The Veil. In walking distance of Veil you have Ardent and the 3 Notched tasting room. You should definitely check out The Answer and Triple Crossing if IPAs are your thing. Right next door to The Answer is Mekong, which serves decent Vietnamese food and Triple Crossing is in the middle of downtown. Try out 821 if you want good sandwiches

Saison, Lucy's, and Rappahannock's are all great places to eat and drink. Those are our favorites when we head to Richmond. Rappahannock's has an amazing cocktail called Pistols at Dawn be sure to get one of you stop there.

Not any longer. It was actually a "Quality" Inn before they shut down for good. I made the mistake of staying there over the summer and it was a glorified crack den. Had to brown out on Veil IIPAs just so I could fall asleep in that room.

There are decent hotels near The Answer, and I'm sure there are nice but more expensive hotels downtown near Triple Crossing. You should plan on making your way from either TC to the Answer or vice versa with a stop at The Veil in between, otherwise you'll be backtracking around.

The Veil has a nice taproom and I love their beer, but I feel like The Answer is a slightly more inviting place to hang out for a while. They'll definitely have a wider variety of beers to drink too, between their IPAs, fuited berliner Andalls, adjunct stout Andalls, and dozens of great guest taps (probably including beers from both of the other places). I haven't been to TC so I can't comment.

And don't sleep on Triple Crossing. They're making incredible stuff right now.

Don't forgot to grab a Richmond Beer Trail Map at the first brewery you stop at (Or just print out map in the link). Make it to 5 breweries (don't forget to get stamped) and you get SWAG. Right now it's a free t-shirt but a hat should be coming up soon. That hat looks pretty sweet.

Plan on staying at the embassy suites. And starting at triple cross, the veil and ending at the answer.

It's 3 miles away from where you are staying but not in the main brewery scene......Final Gravity Brewing is a sleeper in RVA. It's a homebrew shop that also does brewing. They often have at least 12 beers on tap AND better yet they are one of the few in Richmond that open up earlier in the day. They open at 10am on Fridays and their IPA game is strong. SO if you get into town early and have some time to spare before hitting your main destinations check them out. STRANGEWAYS is another one that opens early. I believe it's Noon on Fridays for them.

You're probably already aware but Triple Crossing has 2 locations. Foushee St. is their original location and would save you about 15 minutes than driving to their new location in Fulton (on Hatcher St.) They usually have the same stuff on tap and I personally like the vibe of Foushee more. The only caveat to not going to Foushee on a Friday is if it's a week when have a can release, which typically occurs on Fridays, is they will release it at the Hatcher St. location and not Foushee. Long story short. if it's a Friday when cans will be released then go Hatcher. if not, then Foushee is the best bet. Even if you're not planning to pickup cans I believe the new release is only on draft at the new location for the first day or so before they have it available at both.

And Isley Brewing is close to Ardent... it doesn't get hype like Veil or even Ardent, but I like it. Well known for Choosy Mother (peanut butter porter), but they have other standard offerings as well.

Also may stay at residence inn downtown. Was wondering how safe of a walk it is from the hotel to triple cross

Downtown is safe. Your beer adventures won't take you to any dangerous parts of the city.

Last hotel question. Is it walkable from the answer to embassy suite. See it's only 1.6 miles away.

It's a busy roadway but you could walk. The Answer does have ample parking or even Uber. And don't forget about Mekong around front. Definitely do not miss trying a few Andalls!

That's a 30 minute walk at a normal pace, not including stopping at crosswalks, etc. and there isn't a sidewalk the entire way down Broad Street. I'd uber unless you really want the exercise.

After hitting up Triple Crossing for the first time last night, it's definitely on my must-hit list next time (and every other time) in RVA. Good beers all over the board, but the new Green Dreams is next level good.

I completely agree - I hit up the Fulton location 2 weekends ago (picked up some cans) and definitely plan to visit again next time I'm in the area.

I stayed at the Courtyard Marriott downtown. I hit up Veil and the Answer then checked in. I ate at Capital Ale house which wasn't a far walk. I liked it because they had a lot of local VA beers on draft. Food was ok.

Since my last post was deleted before I could gather the valid information that I was seeking.... is there a craft beer bar or Brewery in Richmond that would cater more to single people tonight? Ones like myself who will be out of town and in Richmond on Valentine's Day? I am only interested in craft locations.
