I saw this happen at the Tired Hands Brew Café a few years ago and I started laughing because I though the person was joking. Turns out it was a local that just heard that they were a good bar and had no clue that they only sold the beer they make. I kind feel like an ass laughing but the bartender at least handled it like professional and explained they only serve their own beers and that if they were looking for something light the English Mild they had might be a good place to start.

Only 2 things, since we're pretty spoiled with good taprooms around here...
    1. Families parking kids on stools at the bar during after-work hours while waiting for their table. That is valuable adult real estate.
    2. Very young bartenders that cannot relate to the notion that middle-aged patrons may have been enjoying craft brew before they were born. Please don't treat us as if your mom has come to check up on you. Just ask what I'd like in a friendly manner, serve my request, and take my money in a timely fashion. I won't waste your valuable time, if you show me the same courtesy.

In NM, as of this past calendar year I believe (2016), State legislation now allows for local wineries and cideries to be severed at local beer taprooms. It is all done without an extra license/permit for the brewery. So either your place is behind the times, or they just arent fulfilling their end of the flavor bargain.

This x100. I have kids. I take them to Chucky Cheese (even though I fucking hate that place). I DON'T take them to breweries/bars because they're kids. I MIGHT have them come in a bottle shop with me but I'm that guy that loudly tells them not to touch anything and stand next to me and behave. Some parents these days need to grow some balls. Excuse my bluntness.

Funky brewing smell. I've been in a few taprooms where you can smell the brewing process and it's very unpleasant.

A brewery that smells like a brewery, unpleasant?? :stuck_out_tongue:

I know some people find it offensive, somehow, but man I love that smell!

A lot of Charlie Murphy Haters of the Year on this thread, I'm enjoying it thoroughly!

I've never had a bad experience in a taproom. But have had many in dirty grimey bars, think about how clean and modern taprooms are.

I'll trip on a dog trying to avoid a running child while an interception happens and everyone screams curse words to get a refill from a college kid with a giant vape pen around his neck anyday before I go to another shitty bar.

I dislike "helpful" servers. I generally know what I want simply by looking at their selection, the menu and/or any of the on-line sites that I frequent. Many times, they are just trying to show off & are actually spouting misinformation that other customers take to be gospel. I also don't need to hear "Ooh, good choice!" or other utterances along those lines. What if it turns out not to have been a good choice for me? Are you offering up a guarantee? Serve me my drink & 8=* No further input required, unless I have questions.

I don't care about kids, dogs, tvs, hipsters, neck beards, etc. etc. too much, I really only care about what you are serving being good. The beer first and foremost of course, but if you serve real food (not talking about pretzels, bar snacks and the like), take pride in it, also. I hate the "it's a brewpub not a gourmet restaurant" attitude. If you only serve burgers and wraps, or pizza, fine, just take some pride in them also. Nothing worse than having fine beer served with some nasty freezer burned burger, or grocery store pizza.

Huh, what? That's the best part about going to a brewery!

Nothing really pisses me off, especially trivial stuff. I go, if it's a cool vibe and good beer, I stay. But I do laugh (internally) when a server describes every IPA as a 'juice bomb', even though it's absolutely not.

The server letting me know that they've recently fixed the big brewing problems that plagued them in the past. Fixing stuff is good, but I'd say that's still a big turn-off for a first impression, and yeah, I've actually encountered it.

[3) Nothing interesting to try. Maine Beer Co has some awesome beers, but they were one of my least favorite stops in a trip to maine that I took over the summer. All the beers that they had at the brewery were beers that I've already had plenty of times in distributed bottles. Theres not much point to take a long trip to visit somewhere if I could have just stayed at home and drank all the same beers after going to a local package store. Having a line of pilot beers just for the tap room makes things so much more interesting. I dont even care if the pilot beers suck, as long as they give me a reason to come try something new.[/QUOTE]
Hmmm, interesting, Been there 3 times in the past several years ,always something different was on tap.

You are in a working factory that brews beer, consider yourself lucky. Warm wort? The best. You might want to take up embroidery or something.

Kids? I bring them every time. They tend to be loud and annoying too. Did I say loud. You'all should just get over yourselves. I also make my daughters buy the first round every time
