I see Odd Breed opened up their bottle membership. I want to support them, but $300 seems steep for a brewery that hasn't opened yet. I also have never tried any of their brews but sours/wild ales are my thing and I hear great things. Untapped reviews are very high, and also big fan of Sybarite/brewzzi respectively. Anybody sign up yet?

We're planning to open this summer. The permitting process makes it difficult for us to be more specific with our timeline.

I signed up with no hesitation. I've tried a fair amount of Odd breed beers at various festivals & events. All were outstanding. If they bottle anything like the wild Baltic porter w/ cherries they had at FoB it's going to be hit after hit.

Can't wait for this to start.

Have they announced how many slots they are opening in the bottle membership? Still debating

Pretty tempted to join this, but I'm moving away this summer and haven't gotten a chance to try much of their stuff. When it comes to sour stuff I've been to Jester King a few times and liked it, will Odd Breed be up my alley?

I'm in the same boat being out of state. I've loved Matt's beers for awhile and they are amazing. I use to live downtown WPB and the Brewzzi CityPlace was right around the corner. Really spoiled in those days. But don't underestimate the cost of shipping labels to get the beer to you, thank you beers for your trustee and the shipping labels to send the thank you beers to your trustee. I learned my lesson with a few years of Bruery. It's gets really expensive fast. That said...I'm still tempted.

Hey guys, we are limiting the Rare Bottle Club to 350 members, and we are allowing members/proxies 90 days to pick up bottles after they are released.

I would certainly say they are on Jester Kings level. Some I've had are better than almost anything JK makes.

Anyone go to Barrel of Monks anniversary try the Odd Breed stuff? Curious how Barrel of funk tasted a year later. Also, not big on Flanders style but the one they were pouring looked nice

The Flanders was very good, not crazy about that style but I enjoyed it.

The BoF was ok. I enjoyed it much more out of the bottle a couple weeks ago but there was some foam issues that could have effected it at the party.

Odd Breed's collab with Barre of Monks dropping Saturday. Very happy it's a weekend release as bottles were sold out last year by time I got to brewery. They have 200 bottles, 2 per person. You think if I get there hour before open, that should be fine, right?

    "
-This is a completely different beer from Batch 1. Batch 1 was a Wild Witbier fermented entirely with Odd Breed's mixed culture, displaying prominent funk and moderate acidity.

-Batch 2 is a Wild Tripel that was first fermented in stainless with Barrel of Monks' proprietary yeast before barrel aging for 9 months with Odd Breed's mixed culture of wild yeast and bacteria. The elevated alcohol content and bitterness of the Barrel of Monks Tripel reduced the activity of souring bacteria. As such, this beer is funky but not sour.

-The draft version and bottle version are very different. We filled two barrels for this collab, and they produced surprisingly different results. Rather than blending the barrels, we decided to bottle from our favorite barrel, and use the other barrel for the draft version. The draft version is sweeter with more toasted oak, while the bottles are noticeably drier and more tart with stone-fruit esters. Despite the flavor differences, both versions finished with a pH of 4.02 and a Final Gravity of 0.9 Plato. Bottles are 11% ABV."

I like witbiers so was expecting to like this but can't say I've ever tried a tripel I enjoyed. Will still show up but tempering expectations

Batch 2 BoF on draft was pretty good, looking forward to trying it out of the bottle soon to see how different it is. That said, Batch 1 blows it out of the water, but it's a different style so. But I enjoy tripels and liked batch 2
