fyi... drank a peach double milkshake last night and it was by far tasting the best it has since i got them.. no snow globe... no sediment at the bottom of my glass.... now i shake them up till the can is so tight I can't squeeze them then when i open i crack super slow and allow some foam to come out before I pour.. but it was really tasty... have 2 left and hoping those are as tasty as the one from last night... think double peach was near thanksgiving so that's what like 80 days old... these double milkshakes and regular milkshakes really seem to be a lot better after 30-60 days when the hops fall off some

A funny story about the Prism beer brewed with tea:

Rob DeMaria (owner of Prism) had a beer tasting event at Capone’s a number of years ago where he walked around giving out small samples of his beers. One beer was branded (at that time) as Tea Party Ale. That beer was not really my ‘cup of tea’ (pun intended) but it was drinkable. As I sampled that beer I asked Rob: Are you concerned in naming this beer Tea Party Ale since there is know a political movement called the Tea Party? He replied: Yes, I think we will have to change the name.

Now we have Prism ParTea Pale Ale.

    Cheers!

Shouldn't it have white light going in the top?

Ironically, it used to be that way. Less was definitely more.

If it is a collab with Broken Goblet I would drink it right away otherwise you might get shrapnel your way.

I've never thought that OV had a thin mouthfeel and when I've had it it has been pretty sticky. Tea+vanilla sounds good to me.
Interesting and aggressive idea. Rolling or just turning the cans upside down doesn't work so simply shaking them and dealing with the spray could be the best option. I'll try this next time I open a milkshake.

I shake all of my NE style IPA before drinking to make sure everything gets in suspension. I thought that is what everyone did?

Edit - no snark intended, I'm dead serious...

Man, Prism has to be one of the biggest mysteries of this area. How the hell are they still in business, let alone doing well enough to expand to a new facility?

On topic, I opened a pineapple milkshake over the weekend and the bottom part of the van was nothing but sediment. Thank god I only have one can left. You can suggest shaking the can or rolling it, but one shouldn't have to do that to properly pour a damn beer from a can.

I guess they appeal to the new craft beer drinker with their "novelty" flavors. I wish they'd just brew some normal beers.

They also had a 5+ year head start on a lot of the newer area breweries in gaining accounts. For example, I don't know if they still are, but at one point they actually had some tap handles at Citizens Bank Park.

Also, this is pure speculation, but the Owner might not be totally reliant on Prism for his main source of income. Back when they first opened, I recall he was driving a brand new Mercedes, which I thought was out of place parked behind their low-rent industrial building. That ain't start-up brewer money.

Yeah, they definitely cater to that crowd that is new to craft and go nuts over some blood orange wheat beer. Broken Goblet is another one.

I've never actually shaken them and with the best TH NE IPA's you don't need to. The Waiting for the Bloom I posted a picture of last week sat undisturbed for a year and was poured with absolutely no shaking, rolling, etc.

Tonight I opened this Peach Milkshake and trust me I shook it well. It is still a total snowglobe with an outrageous amount of stuff that settled to the bottom. Great head though.

It smells great though... It's a shame that shaking wasn't enough for this beer and the snowglobes remain a mystery. Frankly I think TH cuts some sort of corner with some of the Milkshakes and this Peach/Blackberry batch from last year sucked.

That would made sense. My point was just that with any business, it's easier to be successful if you start off well funded.

In contrast, Guild Hall failed because they were under funded.

Shame isn't it? Fortunately, the allotments of shakes are low enough that it's not that hard to go through them in a week's time. I trade them/give them to friends anymore if I don't think I'll get to them within a week from their release date. Great out of the gate, but time is not on their side at all...
