@sierranevadabill I really like Nooner Pilsner and Summerfest Pilsner but there is a lot of overlap so why not put out a stand alone Vienna Lager for the summer seasonal?

    My apologies but....

Please make your Kolsch as a summer seasonal beer vs. Summerfest.

    Cheers!

I love summerfest, but boy is the Kolsch good too ...

That summer pack from 2015 was the all time best one - I'd love to see that lineup come back.

Great post. Their kolsch is phenomenal.

I'd like to see SN make an affordable BBA coffee stout much like Weyerbacher's SMS or Lagunitas High West-ified.

I wish they'd drop Nooner and Otra Vez altogether giving the Kolsch and something else a full time slot. Summerfest is light years better than Nooner.

I'm okay with Nooner being dropped but Otra Vez must stay!

My opinion is a combination of @JackHorzempa and @ecpho posts above. I wish they would drop Nooner, move Summerfest to a year round slot (with a name change of course), and make kolsch the summer seasonal.

Also have to agree with @FBarber, that 2015 summer pack is one of SN's best. I was told they are switching from four variety packs a year down to three though and trying to move away from tying them in with the seasons. The thought being that people are skeptical about buying a "Summer Pack" in late August or a "Snow Pack" come February

I tend to buy 3/4 of their variety packs a year for whatever reason, (I've already skipped their 4-way IPA pack this time around) so I doubt I'd miss one less. That being said, I always enjoy their variety packs and they're generally released within the seasons ...

I really enjoyed the 4-way pack - would definitely pick up more if I could find it again. SN seems to have a distributer issue in my area. For the most part the seasonal packs have great selections - would prefer to see more variety packs than Sidecar, Nooner or PA 12pks.

I would like to see a Vienna lager, or a helles would be nice too. I have o local kolsch that I prefer to Sierra Nevada's. Sorry @JackHorzempa :flushed:

While I like both Nooner and Summer festival, and am probably in the minority and prefer Nooner of the two, I think SN has an issue with overlap with these two beers. They are obviously different side by side but not different enough to justify marketing both at the same time.

I also agree with the sentiment that the Kolsch released a couple years back was something special. That little touch of American flavor hops while keeping an otherwise traditional Kolsch profile was great.

Personally, my vote would be to make Kolsch and Kellerweis year round offerings in 12 pack cans. Pick between Nooner or Summerfest as a summer seasonal. Than do a lager variety pack in the fall, being the loser of the Nooner/Summerfest seasonal choice, the 2015 Oktoberfest, and two other lager selections (maybe a Dunkel and Doppelbock to round it out).

Which seems so strange to me -- August tends to be one of the hottest months of the year around here, and February is usually one of the snowiest!

This year's been an oddball as far as February goes (the consistent 50-to-70-degree weather we've been having makes those early spring variety packs already on the shelves actually seem seasonally appropriate for once!), but usually a snow/cold/winter themed pack in February wouldn't seem too odd.

I do like the Vienna lager, but...I really like Summerfest. Nooner and Summerfest are both great pils, in different ways.

We currently are getting Devils Backbone VL down here but would switch quickly to SN VL if available.

I mostly agree with those two sentiments. A slight adjustment for my preference. They should make Kellerweis their summer seasonal, wheat beers are perfect summer beers, and I think the average consumer (Joe Sam Adams drinker) likely thinks that way too. And Kellerweis was almost scrapped due to lagging sales, keeping it seasonal is a good way to remind people it exists, and possibly increase sales.

    Spring seasonal - Summerfest (renamed)

    Summer - Kellerweis

Keep the Vienna in the fall pack and the Kolsch in the summer pack. I could be convinced of making the Kolsch a spring seasonal, and have the Summerfest in the summer pack instead...but I really dig the Summerfest, having just three in a pack would suck.

Respectfully I have to say . . . Don't freaking touch Kellerweiss. Maybe if SN pushed and more stores carried the original core beers like Kellerweiss, stout and Porter we could actually have a chance to buy them and sales would be better. I almost never see those choices anymore.

Totally agree! We had 3 feet of snow on the ground until the 60 degree heat wave we've had this week. And it's supposed to dip back down into the 20's come Sunday. Syracuse is a strange place. But at least we beat Duke
