Confirmed. Had a quite hazy tulip. And texted a pic to @distantmantra to prove it. (Also, delicious and available in crowlers.)

Well, it's comforting to know that civil discourse and evidence can still adjudicate the truth in at least one sphere of human interest. (Bonus consensus on the beer: it is indeed delicious. CNN even says so.)

Yeah my triple crush was 420hazeit. Delicious though.

    Could yours have been Blimey?

My guess is it was accidentally Blimey or Gobsmacked. With three triple IPAs on tap at the same time a week or two back, I could see how the error could happen.

    • Loral Crush in cans! The latest installment in our Crush series features the soft, floral and citrus flavors of the Loral hops with a little punch from Ekuanot hops. Both meld perfectly with the fruity ester from the Vermont yeast strain. We've sold out in 3 hours our prior Crush can releases, and we're canning more of this batch to try and last longer. We anticipate a four 6-pack limit per person initially, which we may reduce during the day.

Hey all - glad you're liking the Crush series! Triple Crush worked out well I think. We'll brew a larger batch in a couple of months and try and get it out into distribution a little.

Sorry @distantmantra looks like that was a mispour. I will tell the team to get you the correct pour when you next come in, please just mention this thread.

@CaptainQ you beat me to it! Thanks for sharing. Dry hop is mostly Loral - the first time we've used it. We did a variety of hop teas to get what we felt worked and the correct blend. It was tasting awesome off of the tank yesterday. We've got the body where I want it too. This yeast is a tricky beast but when you get it right it's worth it!

    Cheers, Adam.

Adam. The more I read about your beers, the more I want to try them. Is there any chance we might start to see some of your wares down here in PDX in the not too distant future (I don't think I've seen any down this way so far to date)? Like a lot of folks I suspect, Reubens is at the top of my list of places I want to visit in Seattle, but I'm just having a hard time finding the free time to make it up your way.

Either here or in Seattle, I'm looking forward to trying your beer at some point (hopefully sooner rather than later!).

Thanks for the kind words @John_M. We've been working on getting enough beer for Western Washington to enable expanding to both Eastern Washington and the Portland area, and with our new fermenters this year we can do it. We've signed with distributors in the Portland area and Eastern Washington and are planning to launch in Portland in June. We're going to start small as I believe we have to earn the right to be relevant in such a great beer town - but we're excited to be coming. Grace and I got engaged in Portland so it's a particularly special place for us personally so we're looking forward to visiting a lot more. Expect a more formal announcement next week. Cheers!

Honestly, today's Loral Crush Release is the best one I've personally had from the series.

That being said, is $28 for two six packs ($2.33 per can) decent in your opinion? Heard a few grumbles today, but it didn't seem to stop people from purchasing full cases! IIRC, these prices are in line with the other Crush releases or maybe a little higher.

Another thing, this is definitely NOT an overly hoppy beer, which is a pleasant change of pace. Some might find it a little on the light side (approx. 45-50 IBU), but again I think it's DELICIOUS!

BTW, I personally like this iteration of Crush better than Silver City's Tropic Haze release yesterday. Also saw a couple people bring Sixers of Tropic Haze to Rueben's today. Don't remember seeing an outside beer being passed around inside of a different brewery like today. Usually noticed this happening outside in past releases while people stood in line (outside the brewery). Is this an accepted practice inside the brewery? I just wouldn't feel comfortable doing it.

Hi Jason - Glad you like Loral Crush! The IBUs are the same as prior batches, but it doesn't seem as bitter - you're right. I think it's because it has more body left in the beer than prior versions. We send all our batches to an independent lab to get full data on them, including IBUs.

Thanks for the heads up on people drinking other cans at the brewery - we need to be stopping that, it's against our license. We can't have been aware or saw it. I'll remind the team to be vigilant. One of the brewers from Silver City did come in and give me a 6-pack of Tropic Haze, so I don't know if that was one of them. I haven't drank that yet though :-)

As for the price, including tax a 6-pack is $14 - prior versions were $13. I hadn't done the math on the prior versions, and this beer costs about double that of our normal beers to make due to the hops (big dry hops in particular), the yeast we don't reuse as often as in other beers, as well as the cans are small batch and cost more than double of a normal printed can. Honestly, I'm tempted to switch to just Crowler releases in the future - 6-packs are nice, but it would be a lot easier just to Crowler them. We'll see I guess.

Anyways, glad you like the beer!

    Cheers, Adam

We canned over twice as much of the last ones, so we have some for sure. Hopefully they'll last a couple of days. Thanks!

Seconding @JasonJYoung. Loral is definitely my favorite in the series so far, besides maybe Triple. Really fantastic.

Sorry for late response @distantmantra . It looked like the case stack was getting low next to register, so good to hear about Sunday availability.

@reubensbrews , oh I assume the slinder fellow with mustache and blue ball cap was the Silver City Brewer. Funny because he was trying to hide the six pack in his flannel shirt walking in. I stopped and asked his opinion on Tropic Haze and he kinda laughed. Makes sense now...ha ha.

But, there was a small group sitting at table near the door passing around Tropic Haze as well. Sorry, didn't want to come off as a snitch. Honestly had no idea this was a legal/liscense issue.

So tempted to go grab a couple more sixers, but will likely wait until Monday if any left. I don't want to be that guy (hoarder:slight_smile:

Stopped in for a six pack of Loral Crush today and had a small 4 oz pour. I never mentioned Adam's comment about the free pour of TC and wasn't planning on ever actually taking advantage of it, but Thor came over to me and was like "we owe you a beer."

Didn't feel like having a pint of triple IPA at noon, so I walked out with a free crowler.

Thanks guys. You really didn't need to do that, but it's appreciated.

Thanks @JasonJYoung. Definitely no snitch! It's hard for us to see when we're busy and people are trying to hide what they're doing. Please let us know if you see something - we'd appreciate it. Most importantly glad you liked Loral Crush.

Glad Thor spotted you @distantmantra ! And we got a chance to make up for the mistake.
