Does anybody else feel like we should start up another averagely perfect ale (or lager) thread? Just asking. Seems like it's been awhile since we did the NE IPA.

I'd certainly be interested. The polls and discussion about the variables are always interesting and informative. Given that it's nearly March maybe an averagely perfect style for the summer months would work well. Something like Saison, Belgian Pale Ale, Blonde Ale, Hefe, etc.

I'd be interested in a lager, but given the temperature control requirements that may be difficult for some folks and not garner as much interest.

Funny this is coming up, I'm brewing something very close to the NEIPA recipe tomorrow.

Alrighty. Consider this to be the "what should the next style be?" suggestion thread. Just type in your preference and I'll manually tally the votes. Closing Monday evening at whatever time I log in after work, probably around 6:00 pm Eastern.

ill throw these out there, not sure if they'll appeal to a large portion of BA home brewers though...

Milkshake IPA (thinking along the lines of tired hands). I've seen a few different sources and recipes.

S'more Stout. I'd love to read some in depth discussion about graham cracker and marshmallow flavors.

I'd like to see an English ale- An ESB, best bitter, or maybe an English Porter. I think there are a lot differnent malt and yeast options to look at.
Another option could be a sour- maybe a Flanders red. The only downside to this would it take upwards to a year to finish.

Since all I brew is sours now, I vote sour!

But I will add: sours take a ton of time and patience to get right. It is also a very limiting style because a lot of people are worried about introducing bugs and bacteria into their brew space.

We've done American IPA (twice), Stout & Saison . . . time for a change: Weissbier. Design it now, brew in Spring and be quaffing it as Summer approaches.

I'll throw my vote for some kind of summer-ish wheat beer. It's unseasonably warm in New England for February and I could go for one right now.

I agree with this. I could also go for a blonde ale, cream ale or some sort of lager.

Yeah I think a traditional English ale of some sort would be fun. Preferably on the pale end of the spectrum.
