    Friends,
It is only good habit to finish off left over beer in the growler before it's flat. Thus I'm complying with the rules and finishing this HF Harlan: Columbus hopped IPA.
    Cheers

I am unable to post pics from my phone, so I hope @bowzer4birdie isn't too upset. Enjoying Mankato Brewing Death Valley Johnnie Red Ale. It isn't in the system, but I'll get more info on it.

A good habit only forms with practice or repetition. Isn't that right?!
Saying goodbye to HF Double Citra.
Look at that head from a growler opened 2 days back. Very pleased with this beer.
    Cheers

I can kick myself now for not having bought this one last week

Had it in my hand in this little bottle shop from De Molen in Bodegraven, and only now I read about the peppers ...

This Molen shop is filled with dozens of shelves, and as you can guess, it all looks the same. Picking beers is like reading a telephone-book or an endless spread-sheet.

Only two or four beers from De Molen are (sort of) widely available in the Netherlands by the way (and Spanning & Sensatie is not one of them).

    Cheers!

Gotcha. I meant to say cocoa instead of coffee but it was too late to update my original post. If you were worried about the chili heat it certainly was not an issue in the bottle I just had.

Will try this one soon. I like chili, so that's no problem.

Lunch, lunch, lunch, I'm as ready as the puppy when someone fills his bowl . . .

    Score 3.67
    look: 3.75 | aroma: 3.5 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.75

Deep amber gold with ruby highlights, moderate cap that quickly dissipates, little lacing.

Aroma of caramel, toffeeish malt or, perhaps that's the maple, citrus, pine and a hint of oak.

Flavor is dryer than expected. Fairly heavy sweet malt is quickly overtaken and covered by piney hops. That remains the flavor to the finish when the maple and oak kick in both lingering in the aftertaste. Last sensation is hoppy, piney bitterness.

Texture is somehow thin and medium at the same time. Donno, that's a first for me.

Overall a disappointment. Like a showy muscled weightlifter who isn't very athletic. The elements are there, lotsa malt, hops, maple, oak, all of which manage to be present without coming together as a whole. Like a beer designed by committee. Oh well, taste is pretty decent and it goes well with a bacon cheeseburger.

Time to finish off the remaining few Slams for the year. The hops have faded and the honey has taken over, but it's still pretty damn good. A cold morning has turned into a pretty nice day here. Cheers to afternoon beers!

An Aurora Borealis from Aja Bryggeri. One of the last beers I brought from Norway. I saw the northern lights once, but that was from the northern part of Scotland.

Scotland, on it's own, one of the most fascinating parts of the world when you are interested in drinking culture.

    Cheers!

Starting off with a little something light from the boys of Everett, MA. Great paired with my lunch of Cold Poached Salmon and Guacamole over a Caesar Salad.
