Sorry Maria - that's rough. Keep hydrated, get lots of rest, and do whatever works for you.

Good morning BAs! Today's New Breakfast Beer is:

I picked this up last week while hanging out in Berks/Chester/Lancaster counties in SE PA. If you like malty DIPAs (I do), this is worth a try.

    Score 3.68
    look: 3.5 | aroma: 3.5 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3.75

Light gold color with white cap and decent lacing.

Aroma of floral, spicy, piney hops with a noticeable sweet malt base.

Taste is not quite so malt rich as promised in the aroma but is solid. Entry brings malt first, quickly followed by sharp hops which last throughout and spike up at the finish lingering in the aftertaste which is piney sharp.

Texture is round and close to full.

Overall this is a good effort toward creating something different. According to the brewer this is their basic ale (Lord Chesterfield?) recipe made with their house lager and hopped up to 60 IBU. Frankly, I've had 40 IBU brews that tasted hoppier but my palate isn't scientifically based. So what we've got here could be called a session IPA (it is 5%), or a lagered ale, or an IPL, or anything else they want to call it. I don't find it a substitute for anything in particular but it doesn't really need to be. An IPL for the IPA crowd perhaps? It does tract consistently down the middle of the road and I applaud the effort. Just so happens I'm traveling in a different direction.

    Good Morning BA
    First time with this one

I'll try anything new from SN (within my price point). 12oz bottled 1/25/17. 6.7% ABV. This beer pours a copper color fading to gold if held to light. An eggshell colored, medium thick head of about an inch lasts a few minutes and fades to a 1/16" cap. Smell is tropical as advertised. Tastes like a classic west coast IPA with the classic C hops switched out for all the new varieties. It is bitter first and then displays some tropical fruit and rind tastes at the end. Mouthfeel is strongly carbonated and adequate, middle of the road for style. Overall, enjoyable. This is not a radical new brew from SN, but a small step to offer something different to a new generation with different tastes. The market will decide, but I'll probably stick with my old school Torpedo.

Having a Trinitas Tripel from Jopen in Haarlem. Never seen or tried this Holy Trinity before. Found it by coincidence in a bottle shop in the north of Holland.

It's a three-grain tripel , containing 9% alcohol but does not taste boozy at all. This Trinitas Tripel is named after the Holy Trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Jopen has its own trinity – the three brewing grains used in Haarlem since medieval times: barley, oats and wheat.

Nice and aromatic beer. Will definitely buy this one again when I see it.
    Cheers!

Do not buy a lot of cases anymore now that PA is finally starting to loosen up its beer sale laws, but I liked this one so much nothing but a case would do. SN Tropical Torpedo-
