I had the Blazed Orange Sunday. Yes, I drainpoured about 10oz.

It was drinkable but NOT enjoyable; I'd rather not waste my liver on it in addition to wasting my money on it.

I very rarely drainpour. The beer has to be actively bad for me to do it usually, which I don't think it was. I can understand drainpouring it if you'd like to move on to another beer, however.

I had it at a bar, so I was fine not going up and buying another $8 can. :grinning:

had a can of Stratus from 2/8 last night and I quite liked it. I enjoyed the bitter edge/bite it had and it is a great looking beer. Probably looks more to the style than tastes to it with the amount of bitterness it has, but I really enjoyed it.

Has anyone seen the Hubbard's Cave Fresh Hop Simcoe on shelves anywhere already?

Per Hubbard's Cave's IG it was released in the tap room yesterday and would be out for distro starting today.

So besides the new Hubbard's Cave that looks like it'll hit this week, is there anything generally available at stores now in this style that is somewhat fresh (i.e. within the past 2 or 3 weeks)? I've been avoiding buying any beer lately due to so much on hand, but am getting to a point I will probably check it out in the next couple days.

Alternatively to availability at stores, do places like Noon Whistle or Forbidden Root still have stuff on that is available to go, or anyone know if they have new stuff coming on soon?

The Hailstorm Stratus can I had yesterday I also bought yesterday from Binny's on Grand. Canned 2/8, so getting close to three weeks. I also picked up yesterday at the same time a bottle of the Hubbard's Cave lemondrop fresh hop, a bottle of Marz Chi PA, and a botttle of Son of Juice, also all readily available at Binny's on Grand.

Noon Whistle's next Gummy beer comes out this Thursday! This NE style IPA, Jive Gummy, will have plenty of el dorado and simcoe in it. No crowler limits!

Appreciate the info. I still haven't made it out to you guys, and this might be the motivation I need to get out there.

Forbidden Root had a couple of very solid options available as of Saturday.

Also a place I haven't been to yet. I'm making it my goal to get to Forbidden Root or Noon Whistle by Sunday. Seems like it should be easy...yet, stuff always seems to happen.

Noon Whistle does crowlers and Forbidden Root does howlers and growlers. And both seem to have at least on NEIPA on tap at any given time (and I LOVE that).

Will Forbidden Root fill a growler that does not have their name on it? I want to take some of their beer home, but my growler collection is getting out of hand.

I just tossed all my RAM growlers... if you have any of those, there's one way to clear some out.

What you should do is remove the paint and print out a stencil of the brewery's logo you frequent. Paint that on someone else's growler and see what happens. You may have someone figure out that brewery never made 2 liter flip top growlers or they may be like, cool, haven't seen those from us before.

Yes both Forbidden Root and Noon Whistle will fill RAM growlers as long as they are clean. I did so with Jacob Goes to Juicetown a few weeks back.

Jive Gummy from NW is their best yet (to me). It's magical. Mouthfeel of some trillium (since we always have to compare haha) and no bitterness whatsoever.
