I like the online sales that BL is doing. I like their haze shift. But I still like my west coast style in cans for $10-14 per 4pk or 6pk.

I'd argue that the going rate for a 4 pack is $16-18 for a regular IPA. I think only CASA charged $20 and they got some pushback. Modern times is about 20 after fees. We are only talking about a couple buck but 2/20 is an additional 10% profit. I personally do not care, just pointing out the facts.

Unless you value your time at less than minimum wage the $22 beer is cheaper than the $16 beer you waited hours for.

Do we know if this style is significantly more expensive to produce or if the prices are just because the style is the hip thing right now? I would almost think it would be less costly, due to the lack of filtration, etc.

Nah ... from what I see across the country, $20 is not unheard of ... typically $4 to $5 a can ... so in no way is BL completely out of whack with their pricing ... on the high side? absolutely ... but f*cking whack jobs? not even close.

That was the point of my original post ... unless of course you enjoy eating flaming hot cheetos and standing in line for two hours ... can't reason with crazy :grinning:

Good question, I know NE style IPAs tend to use unique yeast strains and malt bills, maybe some of the homebrewers can chime in with their thoughts on if this increases the price. Also would be curious the relative amount of hops used in NE vs West-Coast style

I wouldn't stand in line for 15 minutes to get these hazy IPA's. I am just pointing out that $20 a 4 pack isn't the going rate, because it is really $22 after fees. I don't know the price around the country and nor do I care, but what I do know is that $5.50 a can is higher than anyone else locally.

    1 22 oz Beachwood Hopernicus = $11
    1 22 oz Citra Showers = $9-10
1 16 oz can Konami Code = $5.50 - how much thread space should we take up arguing this price?

I've said it many times: people counting pennies per ounce really should find a different "hobby."

You are comparing bomber's to individual cans and also comparing different styles. These 4 packs should be compared to noble can releases, mumford, monkish, modern times, highland park, CASA, and probably a few others. None of which have been more than $20 for a regular IPA.

Quite a few charge $20, you're splitting hairs by including the Eventbrite fees in the beer price. For most of us that's just a convenience fee. I don't think there's anybody who stood in line at any of the places you listed who would hesitate in a second to pay Eventbrite instead of waiting in line.

It'll sell out in about 10 seconds, I think that'll justify the price pretty well? Supply and demand, if this price was outrageous then people just need to stop buying the beer at that price and it'll adjust accordingly.

Modern Times is close with charging 17.99 plus fees bringing it to about 20 bucks and then us LA/OC people have to trek down to SD to get them. Im not complaining, I do it. I also wait in lines at Monkish. With that said I'm also loving my Booming Rollers for 10.99 a 4pk

Everyone has their limit. I applaud folks who can draw the line at a certain price point across the board. I wish I could do that. I'd certainly have a few more $ in my wallet if I did.

I am perfectly fine with the higher price, including the fees, if it means not having to deal with an in-person can sale shit show.

I don't think there's anything wrong with that if you're trying to be consistent with your choices.

Besides CASA Who has charged $20 for a single IPA 4 pack? I understand doubles because there is more product that goes into it. All I have said all along is that this is higher than anyone else. Maybe there is a valid reason or maybe its all for profit. Like I have said from the beginning, this is higher than anyone else.
