Yeah I've been to the one in Austin and a couple of the other big name ones out there, but they weren't open in Charleston yet the last time I was in town. Pretty awesome to have that as an addition to the already incredible food scene. Although I still think whole hog when I think Carolinas, particularly since Scott's is better than anything I've had in NC since living here.

Now I'm hungry...and I don't think Cookout is gonna cut it.

I've always found this map to be fairly reliable.

I heard a rumor, I know, it's a rumor but it's from someone in the Charleston Beer Scene that this would be the last year for Brewvival. I don't think that they sold out, which is unfortunate, so I really hope that the rumor is not true. Charleston in February is awesome and the festival is one of the best on the East Coast.

I would be willing to bet you're more likely to see Edmonds Oast take over as sole organizer...maybe it's just gotten too big for Coast

I too heard from someone that this was the last Brewvival in it`s current format. I honestly had doubted the rumor, but once I realized Coast wasn`t pouring at their own festival my concerns increased. Maybe they pissed off a bunch of other locals that weren`t invited and just said F it if it makes you happy we won`t pour at our own fest.

Hopefully everything gets settled out and there is one in 2018.

I can understand that. I will say though, what they served was completely unrelated to the quality they have at their restaurant. Give it another try at the actual restaurant. You won't be disappointed.

Bringing us out of hibernation for a quick answer: COAST didn't pour at Brewvival this year so we could give that spot to another brewery. We have a pretty exact quantity per person that we shoot for and need X amount of breweries to fulfill it. We wanted another brewery to have that ability, pretty straight forward really.
As far as the future, it's up in the air. We absolutely love what Brewvival has accomplished in it's 8 years and we think this was the best one all around. That being said, it takes an enormous amount of time and money to do it in the way that we do. But even more important, we like to stay relevant and continue to evolve so we are mulling over the direction we want the festival to head to and our options for the future, we have some ideas but nothing concrete at this time.
We appreciate you coming out, some of you for all 8!

Seriously though....that beer list was insane.
