While I do agree that their prices are crazy high, it definitely costs a decent bit more for barrel aging. Between the price of getting the barrels and then the time and space it takes up too there is definitely added cost. Especially if they age it for 8+ months.

Especially considering the amount of beer that gets dumped from barrels that didn't turn out well. Factor in the cost of having a team of people tasting/ blending. But who knows.

There is definitely added cost, but there's no reason a beer should 10x the cost per ounce by barrel aging. I'd happily pay 12 a bomber for it, but the last time I saw it it was over $20 and at that price I'd rather have 12 regular hibernations.

Nailed it. EMJ and IBB are both $2.99/single at various stores in the twin cities. If the speedway cans are anything more than $4.99 I'd rarely consider picking one up. $8/can she there is no question that I'd pass just like I have on the 750oz bottles.

I can agree that it would be nice to see this in a 4pk format but keep in mind price per oz. In the area that I live in we are looking at about $14.99 fora 750ml bottle of Speedway. 750ml has 25.3oz of beer (for the sake of exaggerating the numbers I will round to 26oz). Breaking that number down would mean 57.6 cents per oz. I will round to 58 for the math. Even if they kept it the same price per oz for the cans (Keep in mind that most breweries increase this price in smaller format.. ie: Firestone with their limited releases going from large format to 12oz bottles) you would be looking at a $37.12 4pk of beer. I would rather buy a $9 16oz can than spend that much on a 4pk. However I hope that with the current beer trends we will see more breweries making 16oz cans and coming down in price to keep the 4pk format alive.
    Cheers!

Finally saw them in my area, bummed they're 10 dollars a can. That makes the bottle still cheaper. Or I could just get TEN Fidy four pack for nearly the same price.

Does anyone know if the 750mL is officially retired on this? How about variants?

I'm a big great divide fan and lived two blocks from the brewery for three years. and visited often. I was able to try Barrel aged ruffian and yeti only a couple times at beer festivals, and have never purchased a bottle due to the price point, like you mentioned. Although they are awesome beers, when you consider similar offerings for much less, its a no brainer. I agree these price points could be dropped, although we don't know the marketing strategy or the cost associated with producing these beers. However, I'll wait till the prices are more favorable, if this ever happens.

No, I don't care who you voted for, Leave it off of these boards. I am bombarded by political coverage, I do not need commentary here. I really don't need commentary here and your posts have noting to do with Ten FIddy in a can.

Go troll for likes somewhere else.

Glad I found this thread. Saw Speedway Stout cans in my local store for $7.99 a can. Passed of course. I was going to ask if that was a reasonable price.

Store got it a few days ago, 8.99 a can. I'll pass because the large 750ml ish bottle is $11. Better deal.

I paid around $18 for a bottle of Speedway and I didn't think it was worth the price. $8 a can does nothing for me....good coffee stouts are a dime a dozen these days. I got a sixer of Wake 'n Bake for around $11.

Way to shoe-horn that in there. How long did it take you to think of a way to shamelessly force your political views upon us all?

Sam's Bottle Shop. They had a few cans yesterday. Don't quote me on the price. It was among a few other things I grabbed, so my memory might be fuzzy, but I am pretty sure it was in the ballpark.

Actually, I may have to retract. TW has them listed at $7.99, so chances are, Sam's was charging closer to that price than what I was thinking. That's what happen's when you shop after drinking a couple, I guess.
