I sent an email to the society asking for a refund of my growler. It's cheaper to buy bottles now and I don't have to drink it immediately. WTF is the point of having a growler now? Bait and switch MFers...

So you have never had Ebony and Oak then have you?

Speaking as a member from the very beginning...i have had a couple o infected offerings...but i was always pleased how they put the customer first and immediately offered refunds. Even when the Anniv fest was a total mess (Waiting in lines for hours a few years back) they immediately stopped the ticket process to speed things up...then they offered the clusterfork sessions to say "Sorry" to members.

They have always seemed to put customers first.

There have also always been growing pains which they have listened to and tried to rectify....

anniversary tickets are first come first serve this year? i thought in past years that's the only event where that hasn't been the case.

I haven't been into the TR in a week or so....but holy crap if they increased the prices like that, it would suck. I get they have to ensure they make a few bucks on their products, but if the growler fills are now going to be $30+....I may just have to stop getting them as often as I do. That's rough.

Increasing the prices on tasters and pours I can understand, but honestly only within reason. Maybe a communication on the increases is forthcoming?

Went Thursday with friends and honestly I didnt pay attention to the charges until I saw my bill for $66 (RS discount $10 off) for 3 flights mixed of beers and 2 FP of beers Mocha/PB&Thrus. I honestly had to ask the girl for an itemized receipt because I thought they charged me beers I didnt purchase and when i saw the receipt I was like, well fuck..Guess Ill be more aware now of the increases and what I buy now.

Since I no longer live in California, the change in tasting room prices doesn't impact me as much as it would if I still lived near The Bruery. However, when I am in town, The Bruery is where I like to go and have a pour or two. I've always been a big fan of their quality beer, their selection (which is phenomenal), and their fair prices. I haven't been there to see if it's as bad as everyone is making it seem, but if it's true, I can honestly see myself visiting less frequently.

I'm sure there's a perfectly good reason for raising prices, balancing affordability is tough, but tipping the balance one way is an easy way to scare away casual drinkers.

Also, I'm not an economist nor do I have an MBA. I'm an engineer, but I'm also a consumer, and seeing prices get too high on a luxury item simply makes me want to cut back.

$70 for all you can drink, all you can eat? Seems fair as hell to me, especially when an average beer festival costs $50-60, includes zero food, and most of the beers are on par with Fat Tire.

The PB Thursday was $5 pre-discount for a taster, but since I'm a RS and the first opportunity to try it... I can't complain.

I know prices always have to go up...But it's steep when the $1 taster from last week is now $2.

    Yes, you're absolutely true!

Yeah pretty sad about the jump in growler fill prices. I actually bought an extra growler this year because it seemed like a really good deal and was filling both every time I visited the taprooms. Gonna cut back on those fills now.

There's a page entry for valise. It's a wine-beer hybrid with vigonier grapes from sans liege, the same winery that they got the grapes for vindictive from.

Wonder if there is a surprise in the offing. That's four brand new beers it seems. Should be enough, especially considering one of the big guns is in play.

Also wonder if we'll see the price increases reflected in tomorrow's bottles.

I've been in seven different beer memberships. The Bruery and Modern Times are the only ones that let you return a bottle with rarely a question asked. They'll even refund you on bottles that you drank, if there is a documented history of infection (for which they have labs on each lot). I think it's pretty amusing that a 15-month pickup window and seemless refund policy still has people complaining.

I'm a MAJOR Bruery apologist, but if what I'm reading here about the unreasonably steep price increases in the Tasting Room, they have just priced me out of their tasting room :slight_frown:

I can understand bumping prices from $1 to $1.25 or $3.50 to $4 for a taster, but doubling prices on $1 tasters and raising them by almost 50% across the board is going to drive more people away. Stone pulled that stunt and I haven't been back since...

Looking to head over to Terreux for SMM around 3 if I can swing it. Hopefully the extended hours help alleviate the crazy lines from last month.

I'm sure doubling the price on tasters and fills will help too... It's keeping me away :slight_frown:

Reminder, if massive lines again, the stamp was no purchase necessary...
