    hi all! I need help!

Spent the weekend in VT. Got all sorts of goodies from Hill, Alchemist and Foam. Left it in my car and a lot of it froze overnight.

Am I screwed? If not, what is the best way to handle?

    Thanks!

So wait til they melt then empty them?

    This is tragedy.

Pour in blender. Make beer slushy.

Most likely they will melt into undrinkable water, sorry especially considering they are great beers.

Whew, that's lousy If they were really frozen. Then at best when they thaw you have a bunch of flat beer. I hope you get lucky.

Opinions are kind of all over the place on this issue, but I think if you let the beers thaw in a fridge, you'll be okay. The beers may not be their best anymore, but if you've never had these beers, you won't know the difference between a 5.0 and a 4.75 score.

I have never seen a big ISSUE if you let it get back to normal drinking temp before drinking.. If you serve a 711 slushie as a beer, then yeah, you may have issues.. Otherwise, I think people here are playing with your emotions.

Most trades are done via ground service, which requires some 4-5 days plus in transit. Your precise traded bait may only be cold for a days tops. From there, it goes from trailer to warehouse, to trailer etc... In the winter, its not so bad. But for the trading months between April and October, its a mess.

To add, Ive been far too eager in many trades in that that some do freeze as I let them sit in the freezer too long.. THERE has never been an issue to where they taste bad or much worse off. its a myth IMHO. Let them reach back down to normal temps and you are drink.

    Let them defrost naturally and they should still be tasty. They might not be as good as if they never froze. If you prefer, you could always give them to me and I'll make sure they're appreciated! ;^}

Aroma/taste should be fine. Mouthfeel might be iffy.

You could donate them to your local canned food drive (hope people see the sarcasm there).

Thanks everyone! I turned the temp in my fridge to low and praying for the best. Had been looking forward to this trip since October and scored SObmuch great beer! Hoping to get my money s worth out of it.

Really, forget about the fact that they froze. I had beer freeze on my porch before and in the end it was fine and still enjoyable.

Not a lot big issue in NC but occasionally. Seems biggest issue is carbonation. If frozen really hard--will be flat when thawed.

Unless rock hard--an usually breakage/splitting is issue--suspect they will be a little flat otherwise ok.

    Report back!!!!!

Still good. Not as good as it should be. Sadly.
My first Focal was frozen... the second blew it out of the water.

I went to college in Vt many moons ago. Sometimes we would put beers outside on the dorm windowsill overnight. We were not supposed to have them in our rooms. They would turn to slush overnight. Pop them open and suck the alcohol off the top. Course back then it was BMC type stuff.

Are you totally sure they even froze? Keep in mind the alcohol content is going to lower the freezing point a decent bit. Not to mention being in a pressurized container should help too. If it was only over one night I really doubt you got more than a few ice crystals to form unless it was bitterly cold out.

Anecdotally I once left almost a whole case covered in about two feet of snow for a couple months in college and that beer was fine other than a slight lack of carb
