Pale Ale/American Wheat hybrid -- wheat grist, w/ a non-typical Victory accent, and APA hopping with Nugget, Citra, Centennial, Cascade.

I'm actually unsure if they do, but I'll certainly be on the look out. I don't know if you ever had smuttynose mudseason but that's the style of hoppy brown I was going for.

Need to get rid of some saved yeast so i'm trying an experiment by mixing 5 ale yeasts and pitching the same amount i would use in a Lager to see if i can ferment at 50 degs with yeast meant to ferment between 62-70. I'll just warm it up if it doesn't work even though it will be crazy over pitched.

Today will be my first brew day in 2 months. A lazy and late start, going with a SMaSH pale using 2-row and Idaho 7 late-hopped to about 55 IBUs.

No brew day for about 2-weeks when I do another IPA (Belma, Azacca, Mandarina and Columbus) w/ Conan, but my Marzen in process (yeast pitched 5-days ago) is already at 1.017 (from 1.057)... So I start ramping it up to finish. Fermentation was quick!

This was with Saflager W-34/70 (2-pk) first pitched into a 2L starter to grow some yeast for future batches for harvesting, then pitched the remaining in at 50F. Took off within 12hrs!

Just bottled my pale ale. Not what was expected but have to say I like it. Was shooting for around 5% abv and got it, but what I wasn't expecting is the Special B and Cascade 1-2 punch. I wouldn't call it grapefruit or raisin, it is more like a caramelized apple. Perhaps a little more Cascade next time at some point, but I think this will be good.

Brewed up a IPA with Chinook, Centennial, Simcoe, Cascade, and Citra. Tested the stout in the balcones barrel after 2 weeks, tastes great, gonna give it a 3rd week then probably keg or maybe bottle if I can get some cbc-1 yeast in time.

Brewed a milkshake IPA with 5 green apples puréed and put in the boil for a total of 10 mins. Hoping to release the pectins for the haze.

Lactose, vanilla, flaked oats, white wheat, wyeast 1318, primarily citra hops. Everything went well with the brew day!

Got to brew my second all grain, and I think it went pretty well. An ESB. ~5.2 gallons of 1.060, pitched a single packet of Danstar dry London ESB. I know many would say I'm under pitching, but I'm not terribly worried. I gave it a full minute of pure O2, hydrated the yeast, and it was off in 12 hrs, in 24 hours that blow off sure came in handy.

Also, my lovely girlfriend helped me bottle 5 gallons of chocolate stout. She doesn't even like beer... I'm pretty lucky.

I actually don't think many would say that you're underpitching. That's the magic of dry yeast, the cell count is nice and high.

I might have made a monster. That 1 Liter blow off over-flowed!

Brewed up 10 gal of a part all grain, part extract IPA made with EKG, Cascade and Citra hops. OG of 1.078. Fermenting it with SafAle 04 that I had left over in the fridge. Let's see how it turns out.

That dry ESB yeast is a monster...takes off and finishes like a rocket...and sublime aromatics while it's fermenting...I just hope it smells half as good when I rack it to a keg tomorrow.

It really is though... It was hard to control the temp and keep it down.

Only yeast I've used where the exothermic heat seemed to add ~ 8*F (fermented at 62*F ambient and SS fermenter read 70*F at peak with no real active temp control.

Bottled some Zombie Dust clone. Should be ready for March Madness. Getting Zombie Dust soon through a trade so a comparison will be made.

Update. I have it fermenting at 50/51 degs and 20 hrs later the ale yeast are slowly fermenting. The speidel air locks are big so it's hard to tell how well the yeast are working but i'm getting action. It ended up be 6 yeast, not 5. Might be a mythbuster.
