New England Style IPA's for about two years, nearly ruined beer for me. Their taste is incredible the mouth feel is unmatched, however... I see a trend now that people are becoming overly consumed by the style. The past few months I have been able to revisit west coast styles, and even diving into german, belgian, and english style beers. I've diversified my beer choices and now enjoy beer more than ever before, leaving NE IPA's for holidays and special occasions.

Do any of you find it a problematic trend in people's obsession with NE style and do you think the trend itself will ever die out?

This has been discussed many times over. Basically, yes, the obsession will fade, but the style is here to stay. People probably had the same response when west coast IPAs hit the scene with their ridiculous bitterness and dry hop aroma.

That's it! I'm going to drink every beer from the can or bottle so that I am no longer offended by my beers haze or lack there of! Just makes it easier to enjoy and not have to think too much about it.

    Cheers

There definitely is a very large group of absolutely dedicated folks who love one specific style of beer. I refer of course to Light Lagers, world's number one beer style, no other beer style even comes close..

NEIPA lovers are a subset of a subset of beer drinkers

Jack u gotta admit there is progress being made via these crhazy threads. I mean just a few months ago you couldn't for the life of you understand what folks meant by the term "juicy" when referring to NE IPAs -- now you seem to be at peace w/it.

Yeah, I am not quite there.

You will be receiving a PM tomorrow and you will not see the word "juicy" once in that write-up. The term "juicy" has too much ambiguity to it. I am still hopeful that some BA will come up with a better term here (i.e., a term which is unambiguous or at least less ambiguous).

Time for me to make some more popcorn.

Thank you for playing along (i.e., posting in this thread).

    Cheers!
