Missed the variants by about 10-15 mins. Lucky enough to grab the full allotment of Waimea punch and some port base. Waimea is drinking very nice. Creamy, thick, and as it warms it's actually getting better. Juicy, tropical and a slight bitterness on the back end to remind you it's still a beer. Bummed I missed the variants but made a few trades to make up for it. Love the fact they didn't announce anything until today, gave us working folk time to get there for a change

Anyone crack any of the variants? I'm dying to try one but I'm in the middle of a dry Lent. Serious first world problems.
Also I'd like to point out that around 20 months ago I visited Kane for the first time and they had 5 beers on tap. No bottles no cans. Now just a short time later you could have literally walked out of there with 5 cases and a case of bottles. All different styles. All executed extremely well. I feel so lucky to have them 20 mins from me

Haven't cracked any yet but I will be in the next few days and on St Patricks day, will report back for you! Loved Coconut last year and Creamsicle was good too. Excited to try the Potato too

FWIW, I am drinking Irish Potato Candy and it is phenomenal, and I don't think I'm exaggerating. It's a poor man's Mexican Brunch - heavy on the cinnamon. It's a little thin which is the only thing keeping it from perfection for me.

My wife and I just went through all 4 tonight. All solid as you would expect from Kane. I am not a coconut fan so that variant is tough for me. It is literally like sucking on a coconut. My wife loved it as she IS a coconut fan! Had c
Kreamsicle last year and feel its a bit more orange forward this time but it was my favorite of the 4. The potato candy one was tasty.

I actually scanned the crowd for you. One day I'll spot you and introduce myself. Then we can do some karate in the parking lot

Mexican Brunch is a cacao bomb for me in the best way possible. I get much more cinnamon from Sunday brunch. It's a smaller beer so should be graded accordingly. I can't wait to stack the base stout up against others ;-) I'm looking at you unjunct

I agree on the Mex vs Sunday brunch. Mexican is super cacao foward for me and Sunday has more layers of cinnamon

I'm finishing up my first can of Waimea Punch. It is sublime. A little sweet a little bitter. And it looks great in my new Kane glass

Next time look for the guy with a Nikon camera taking pictures while his wife rolls her eyes at him. It's usually me!

@SammyJaxxxx is that an actual coaster?

Waimea Punch is the most un-Kane like beer I've ever seen. Fruited lactose IPA lol. That said, it's super tasty - like a more approachable TH Milkshake. Well executed.

missed all the variants by about 10 mins or 30 ish people... hoping that since they did just a "small" amount then maybe some kegs of the variants will pop up and make the rounds... pretty sure i was able to get coconut last year while out at establishments

So, while I was at Kane, I was having a serious conversation with my wife about the people who grabbed full allotments of everything. My question is - do you drink all of those? Or do you just drink Kane beer? This PROBABLY is the wrong forum to ask about this since I'm sure we all seek out variety, but I'm genuinely curious because I saw people walking out with a TON of beer.

This is where my thoughts went, was bummed since I usually make theses but had a commitment. Then you see IG photos of people buying multiple cases of beer and I wonder how much just gets hoarded, traded, resold, etc. I'm not one to judge allotments but 1 4 pack per would've been perfect. Everyone gets it right you still bring home almost a whole case if you include the collar in there.

I unfortunately over think what people do with all that beer as well and get very frustrated. For those of us that trade, at some point have a moment of a "win" with a local rare beer, and having extras of something super rare and special is nice...I get that, but I don't understand excessive hoarding and especially over priced reselling. I love seeing pictures of refrigerators filled with more IPAs than anyone can drink in a timely manner without having a dangerous habit that most of us walk a fine line with already. We've said this in the past though, as a community, that Kane needs to be more aware of their demand and lower limitations to avoid customer service issues. Its not butthurt, its not entitlement. They will get their money, that will never be an issue. NJ is a very dense state as well as very accessible, people from NYC and PA come to Kane all the time with ease. Its great we have Kane, its fun playing the roulette of planning to go and seeing if its a release day but having high limits take away the community aspect of this hobby we have. People always trying to "win" has always been a downer.

Thankfully we have new breweries to shift our attention to that are producing the type of beer we are interested in, Troon, Conclave, and Referend. Hopefully we can look forward to a day when we have to pick a place to go to and be happy with what bottles/cans we get versus all flocking to the same place for packaged goods.
