Wow! I can't believe I get to be the second post of the day.
Happy Daylight Savings day, if it needs to still go on.
I'm taking in the juice. Swish, how apropos to the March Madness!

Pan roasted some Chinese bitter melon into crispy chips for a snack. I encourage the adventurous ones to go to the nearby Asian grocery store and pick up some vegetable that you haven't tried or seen and cook it!

    Have a great Sunday friends!

Good morning BA, have a great Sunday! Hope everyone enjoyed losing an hour of sleep, didn't phase me much. Looking to be a normal Sunday. Got some bottle returns, laundry, and work to catch up on before tomorrow. Been doing so much overtime the last 3 months, but I am glad I have no real obligations since I live alone. No plans to change that currently.

Revisiting this review after 5 years. This is fantastic! Amazing head retention and dense lacing on the glass. Crystal clear. Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with honey, toasted bread, light caramel malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/rind/spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied; balanced creamy and sticky/resinous mouthfeel; slightly slick. Increasing resin/rind dryness with no hop astringency. Minimal warming 9.5%. This was defintely better than I remember 5 years ago, thanks for the bottle dating. Very dank and juicy; nice malt backbone, but never too sweet or heavy. Very drinkable despite a strong drying bitter/resinous finish. Glad I grabbed a full 6 pack last week. The Columbus, Centennial, Simcoe hop combo is delicious and one of my favorite trios. I have been buying so much more Green Flash and Alpine lately now that they are easier to find fresh. 4.23

My go-to American made doppelbock. Delicious as it is every year. Rich flavors of caramel, toffee, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, and light nutty malts; with some light-moderate raisin, plum, apple, fig fruits; and light herbal/spicy hops. Light herbal/spicy balancing bitterness; with medium-full bodied bready creaminess in the mouthfeel. Slight sticky/grainy dryness. Great balance of flavor complexity. Spot on to style as always. Need to grab a full 6 pack soon, I grabbed some singles earlier last week. I usually buy a full pack every year.

Fantastic! Flavors of milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, molasses, toffee, fudge, raisin, fig, date, bourbon, vanilla, toasted oak, and coconut; with lighter notes of coffee, tobacco, and leather. Light-moderate roast bitterness and bourbon/oak spice; with a bittersweet/oaky balanced finish. Fullish body with an outstanding creamy/silky mouthfeel with minimal chalky roast character. Touch of dryness. A bit of booze as it warms on the aromas, but nothing significant. Pleasantly warming finish. A very unique BBA stout, not as dense/roasty as most. It seems to have flavor characteristics of a darker barleywine of sorts; but still remains roasty enough to feel like a stout. Tons of complexity going on with great balance of the malt/barrel characteristics. Glad we get these in MI now, would gladly grab another 4 pack. Still on the shelf all over the place.

Amazing batch this year, as usual. Flavors of cinnamon, mint, nutmeg, ginger, clove, vanilla, coffee, cream, and pepper spice; with balanced milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, fudge, caramel, brown sugar, and toasted dark bread malt sweetness. Light-moderate herbal spice and roasted bitterness; touch of char. Bittersweet balanced finish, with a fantastic creamy/silky medium-full body mouthfeel. Some light sticky/chalky notes and dryness from the spices and roast malts. Very smooth with a small lingering warmth of alcohol and pepper heat. Super rich and decadent. Perfect balance of spices and stout flavors. One of my favorite spiced stouts along with regular Bomb. Still a bit left on the shelf, will grab more before it's all gone again.

Really wish this band never broke up, one of the best Avant Garde prog metal bands I've ever heard.

    One less hour of sleep?
I get up when the dogs get up, and they don't know anything about Daylight Savings Time.
Still bitterly cold, so I'm sticking with a stout.. This is our new guy, Willy, who we adopted two months ago. He's supposed to be nine years old, but our vet says he's more like 12 or 13. Whatever, he's a sweetheart and loves being around people.

Hahaha. Even Willy is sleepy !!! Can't blame him. It's perfect sleeping weather. Cold cold and early. I for one was happy with the time change for once, since I was working overnight. One less hour of work and same amount of pay!! Doesn't happen often
Cheers Doc! Great to see your addition to the family!

Getting psyched for season 7 yet, BA? :sunglasses::sunglasses::sunglasses: ...July 16th...

Charlie over at Emergency Awesome breaks down that teaser for true nerds...

Watched Bad Santa 2 last night, despite really not wanting to...

Totally NSFW trailer, despite the "appropriate for all audiences" placard that shows in the beginning ... Yeah, anyway - loved the original - it's a classic - but this looked like total garbage - and it was, though I did watch it until the end... :astonished: Go figure...

Cold open from SNL last night...

And, if you can stand it... :stuck_out_tongue: lol

    Cheers...
