Value of tickets decreased $40 while price only decreased $20. There is clearly a price increase this year.

I was in the camp of "get rid of the vouchers" after last year, but not under the current structure. I would gladly pay $20 for $40 worth of vouchers.

I will still try for tickets this year, just like everyone else.

I wonder if they would honor last years vouchers at this years fest. My guess is no but I still have a few that someone are intact.

not having vouchers they are going to have to have better taps. I mean yes, they were all things I'd love to drink at my local, but if cash is involved, I'm not going to whip out 5 bucks to drink a Todd the Axeman or an IRS 2014 when I have so much good shit being shared around me. Running out of beer is hardly a problem that i need to go buy more.

I was thinking the same thing....and that will probably lead to a similar (worse, probably) scenario from last year when Yum Yum was on tap at literally every tent and never turning over.

Last year was strange with the tap situation. As for variants; in 2015 I had Coffee Congac Dark Lord, Vanilla Bean Dark Lord, Bourbon Dark Lord, Aquavit Dark Lord, Muerte Dark Lord... then in 2016 I had Dwarven Power Bottom and that was it.

I completely agree, and I'm surprised I haven't seen more comments to this effect. I was annoyed that the vouchers couldn't be turned in if you didn't use them all, but at least I didn't have to carry cash around while I wasn't in the best state of mind to be doing so...

I second this. Had a 2011 at DLD and it was spot on.

i know tickets do not include vouchers this year, but where does it say there won't be any vouchers at all?

it makes sense to me to have vouchers available for purchase at the event (i think there was last year if you ran out of vouchers). that way there isn't a cash transaction every time you want a pour of something on tap, but have to flexibility to buy however many vouchers you'd like.

We want vouchers, trust me. Would you rather turn in one voucher for a DL Variant and one for a Yum Yum, or would your rather pay $5 for a yum yum and $10 for a DL Variant? The vouchers at least put all beer prices at the same level.

Beer prices have always been $5, no matter the style. The size of the cup was the only difference.

While I completely agree, I think there will be atms on site. Likely the fee will be outrageous, making purchased beers even more expensive (especially if you're hitting it multiple times to avoid carrying around a wad).

Nope, sorry you are completely wrong. I'm looking at photos of the taps. DL was $10 as was Behemoth.

Interesting. I've gone every year since '08 and have never paid more than $5 for any tap. And I've had plenty of pours of DL and BA DL's. So maybe I've been going to the right taps at the right time. Or I'm just throwing money at the vendors without haste. But seriously, I thought every draft beer has been $5. I suppose I could be mis-remembering though...

I also thought I'd paid $5 per each beer on draft going back the last 3 years and the size of the pour adjusted depending on the beer

I'm fairly positive I paid $10 for a pour of Chev and DL back in 2015 and they were both in those smaller plastic cups.
