I couldn't tell if people were beIng snarky about a lot of KBS out there. Then I saw that pic above. Is there seriously that much to go around this year??

I knew exactly where that was....did you post the info on the FB group last night? I went in probably an hour after your post and it was all gone. So I missed again. Where they really honoring the 1 pack limit? That's really all I want this year.

Edit: saw post above that they weren't limiting. That would explain why it disappeared so fast.

It was posted on a FB group, but not by @PrestigeWorldwide. They were not enforcing the limit. My guess is they were in the beginning and said F this and put it on the shelf. That was posted shortly after 5:00, and I know someone who possibly bought the last of it. But I don't know what time. I sent them the pic around 7:00 as that was their area.

Lake Lansing Meijer got 25 cases, and there were a whole 9 of us in line at 12 (I was #8 and got there at 11:55). After that there were just 2 employees standing next to it doing nothing. I imagine they too would say F this and put it on the shelf, as it isn't worth the money to pay 1-2 people to "guard" it. I overheard one saying "there is no way we're going to sell all this"

What is this facebook you speak of?

It helped to illustrate the point with pictures. Some of us are visual learners!

Gone are the days of running from store to store to pick up singles. KBS is now like Backwoods or Hopslam.

Somebody posted yesterday on MCBE at about 8:30pm that there were 24 packs left. Not the pic above. I didn't make it in time.

Which i'm not mad about it being more like Backwoods. Although if we could get it down to backwoods esque pricing I would be happier. I know ingredients aren't cheap, or barrels, or the 1000s of other factors. But wasn't it $17ish a pack just a few years ago.?And before the format change wasn't BCBS around $22 (or supposed to be priced around that)?

Cheapest I've paid in Michigan for kbs was around $17 and 19.99 for bourbon county. That hasn't happened since 2011 though.

Yuck. I have zero interest in a beer that exists in the physical universe and can therefore be obtained.

Didn't you really mean to say that you'll just buy less because it has ZERO trade value now?

At a Meijers I went to the KBS was on a cart. The employee asked how much I'd like. I bought a case. :stuck_out_tongue:

The Meijer closest to me only received a few cases. Sold out when I went in. They told me it didn't last long. 'It is a very 'limited' release', he said.

Has anyone seen KBS in Jackson Mich yet? The stores (even Meijer) say they haven't received it yet. Only one store in Jackson received Frootwood so I wasn't sure if we would receive any KBS at all.

A small liquor store nearby had KBS bombers for sale. $19 and change OTD. They had already sold out of 4-packs. I may kick myself later but, I passed.

I've read a lot of posts about availability, but not much about taste. Hopefully people are trying it before buying a ton because it's definitely not the same beer. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like it has scaled well with their production increases. Really heavy coffee this year and hardly any barrel characteristics at all. Don't get me wrong, it's still a delicious beer, but not my favorite year.

My Meijer had sold out by the time I went, but they had plenty of Rye Hipster Brunch Stout and Hazel's Nuts, so not all is lost.
