Went today which was my 2nd visit since the changes. Here's a short recap of the beers I've filled up on in those two visits:

Bunny - Delicious. If it's not the Bunny of old, it's right up there with it. Easily a 4+ star stout.
Emergence IPA - Very good. Not at the NE IPA level, but a solid beer nonetheless.
Tropaz IPA - It was decent but I think someone above me described it as "muddled" and that's a good way to put it. It's lacking any stand-out characteristic.
Devils Hop Lager - This is a fantastic IPL and I was told it was the first lager Austin had ever brewed in his life. If that is in fact true, then I'm excited for future lagers by him.

I don't know what went on with the business side of the brewery. I saw and briefly talked to the new owner today - I didn't come away with a negative opinion. Seemed like a normal guy. The blonde lady who someone mentioned in a previous post, who I'm assuming is his wife, was asking for feedback on the beers people were sampling.

When I went the first time, it was closing time and I got to shoot the shit with Austin for a while. He seems like a good kid that's excited that he's getting full reigns of the brewing process after being handcuffed at Hooker and Sea Dog. Sure, he followed a recipe, but Bunny came out great. As far as his own beers: Emergence was promising and this new IPL is a home run. This kid deserves a chance to get his beers out there. People should not forget that he was hired by Jon to be the assistant brewer for Jon.

Overall, I'm not going to stop going to Steady Habit because of the ownership change. If you leave politics out of it, the product is still noteworthy. It should be about the brewer and the beers, unless you're personally tied to any of the individuals involved, in which case I can't blame you. That is why I'm also really looking forward to visiting Top Shelf in the near future and filling up on Jon's beers which I know will be great.

Was going through some old Facebook posts of theirs and a month ago they released a beer called "Grab Em by the Pale Ale."

    What are they thinking?

The new owner is a piece of shit. I dont care what he says on Facebook but he's clearly getting stone kind of kickback from Fizzics. It also seems likely that he scammed Jon out of his part of the ownership. The guy is easily Google-able. Hes also getting sued for something about giving away private information.

How's the traffic flow recently? Not too many comments on the FB page.

Bet it won't be that great with lasting brass opening today and stubborn beauty having their singularity release.

Will be tough for them next month with Counter Weight opening and Top Shelf online with Jon's beer.

What's going on at SH. Any thing new with this place? Haven't been since the issues with cans and I didn't get compensated.

Last three pages should give you some good info.

New brewer has potential, owner is a clown.

    Jon's sour possibly released soon?

Why weren't you compensated? I bought a full allotment in which literally every can was bad. I walked in and told them I wanted my money back. Got it back, no argument.

Just saw on FB that the new brewer is going to be the head brewer for NEBCO. And that SH is looking for a head brewer.

Well that's interesting news. Anyone else find SH's Facebook presence really weird? It just plays like an old dude posting cringy beer-related memes. And it seems like they have live music every day they're open. I haven't been or had the beer since Jon left but the way they advertise the place never made me want to go back for whatever reason.

Any BAs visit recently? New brewer named Jonas?

A brewer. Not the head brewer.

Answer for my own question - growler of F.O.M.O. tonight - terrible homebrew. I don't mind a malty IPA but don't market as double dry hopped. I brewed many years ago, with extract, and am confident I could exceed the quality of this growler. Laughable at $20 for 64 oz.

Looks like Jon is starting a new brewing project at Parable in Manchester, CT. (According to Instagram)

Yup! He's head brewer in the space formerly occupied by Top Shelf. I'm really excited for his beer to be back out there for us to drink.

Ditto, especially since Parable will be the closest brewery from where I work and kinda sort of on my way home.
