Olde Hickory Appalachian Walker

So OHB can just go ahead and have my money. Take it all. No questions asked.

 

App Walker was so good last year. Can't wait!

 

Seriously! This is the single best barleywine I've ever had.

OHB said this will not be ready for release at the time of the sour release unfortunately. Guess that means two trips out to Hickory.... wooooo!

 

I've had almost every good OH beer but this one. How does it compare to Omega Point?

 

@Fantific English Barleywines are my absolute favorite style of beer, and AW is my all-time favorite (over BCBBW, Kuhnhenn, MOAS, etc). Barely sneaks past Omega Pointe as well. The brandy barrels are just made for this beer - it accentuates the dark fruit/caramel characteristics perfectly.

 

Thanks. Wow, will have to make a trip to OH then. This is good timing because I'm down to my last few Omega Points.

 

Any English barleywine that can top Omega Point is alright by me, hope I get to try it.

 

I've had 'em all - this one ranks awfully damn high in my book.

 

It's a tough argument between app walker and Omega point. An argument that I'll need more evidence from the cellar to solve... Both are awesome.

 

Had the AppWalker on tap at the sour release on SAT. Man, that beer is soooo good.

 

Agreed! Don't quote me on this but a couple of the employees said they bottled half of it and were maybe releasing it in 6 months or sooner.

 

They mentioned a bottle release to me but no indication of time
