Cycle Barrel Aged Day 2017

If you're talking about the YOpeners that were for sale on Thursday, they were $25 tax included and you should look them up (it's an Etsy store). Not only are they awesome openers, but there is a pretty awesome story behind them. Here's their about us section from their Etsy page:

Announcement There are two things that make these handmade openers special:

1.The unique design opens the bottle while leaving the cap in perfect condition with no bends or creases of any kind. If you love craft beer and collect the caps like I do, this will prove most useful for you.

2.These openers were all handmade by me and my son who is affected by Autism and is legally blind. He loves to “help” me woodwork so I help him press in the carriage bolts to the openers. His vision and dexterity make it too scary for me to let him use the table saw or other cutting tools.

This is a project that gives us an excuse to get out and make some sawdust together. As you can see by the pricing and shipping, we are not making much, if any, money on these openers. The price basically covers the cost of materials and shipping so we can buy more materials and keep making them.


They're also magnetized and have a wax cutter included. Well worth the $25 in my opinion.

 

The broccoli mushroom one was so legit with that electric golf shoes....

Wanted to add- Friday was not a great beer at all. I couldn't find anyone who loved it and it was the quickest to sell out!!

Thursday was by far the best weekday, along with Tuesday and Monday. Wednesday was more barrel but no adjuncts to meddle with it.

Vanilla and the BA coffee dos were damn good I thought. After drinking everything, the berliners were the stars. The prickly pear was damnnnnn good

 

Doesn't matter how Friday actually tastes, the description of the treatment is what will keep that trade value so high for at least 12 months--which is the primary reason people showed up for it.

Funk Factory's prickly pear was also damn tasty...when the dragonfruit passionfruit guava trend dies down, I think the cactus may be the next big thing.

 

I think I remember the grilled cheese place's name was Cheezus Crust or something like that. I tried looking them up but no hits.

They should seriously consider a name change to Cheezus Crust. I doubt there's a better name for a grilled cheese place.

Can't be bothered to come see me and drink my fridge but you'll come for a grilled cheese?

I guess worse has been said about me...

 

When I was leaving I remember seeing this guy insist that they cut his wristband but wasn't given a bottle. So he was trying to finagle his "first" bottle from them. Doug didn't seem to give him the time of day when I was leaving, but I guess he was persistent and Doug caved because he's a nice guy.

I also heard he is banned from Cycle.

 

Haha, I guess I had a few beers and improvised the name. I do like Cheezus Crust though!
