Sure, it's a little early to start making best of year lists, but I'm sitting here drinking the new "Super IPA" from Alpine and New Belgium and I'm quite impressed. As has been discussed in other threads, collaborations hardly ever meet expectations (SN and RR should be able to make the best beer on the planet right?), and as far as I see it, there are many good reasons for why this is the case. But how about some love for those babies that do do justice to great brewery romances.

The two I prefer to any others I have tried this year:
Alpine and New Belgium Super IPA
Deschutes and Hair of the Dog Collage

    What are your favorites?

When I saw your subject, I immediately thought of Alpine and New Belgium Super IPA too. Fantastic stuff at a great price.

This may not count because it wasn't two breweries, however, Stone/Bottleworks XIII was really good! I know it wasn't for everyone but I really liked it.

If I'm sticking to the multiple brewery type collaboration I gotta go with the Stone version of Saison du Buff.

Just had it the other night. Mikkeller/Cigar City Swinging Harry, hands down best collab I've had this year, so far, and although it's not a traditional Quad, it was the best Quad I'd ever had.

Super IPA was pretty good, a bit too sweet for my tastes. I did enjoy Brux though.
