I have decided what I'd like to do for my wedding in regards to the alcohol, which includes beer. For the beer situation, here is what I am thinking:

Keg of Coors Light (or any light beer)
4 Cases of Yuengling Lager (I'm in PA and people love it)
4 Cases of different craft beers - even thinking of going with Tröegs Summer Anthology. (My favorite brewery and an easy variety)

Altogether this would be about 15 cases of beer along with wine and some liquor. Just a note, they can only do one keg. I may see if they can get another tap.

What are your thoughts and why?

I would switch the light beer to cans or bottles and the keg to Yuengling.

You might find more people become craft beer drinkers or just give it a try when they aren't paying for it themselves. I agree with @dennis3951 though about switching the keg to Yuengling. You know your guests better than anyone here would, though.

Whatever you do, plan ahead so you don't run out of beer [or wine, or booze]... guests will remember that more than what you offer specifically. Have a local beer distributor on speed dial for cold cases just in case...

Thanks for the input so far. I'm glad to hear the feedback you are offering. It's easier to see what others would like or want.

You may find this useful as a way of estimating how much total that you'll need for the guests.

I used one similar, which is how I got around 15 cases (including keg). Thanks!

I went to a wedding and a party where craft beer was there. I saw a lot of opened bottles with barely a sip taken. That can get expensive for you - but hey it's a free taste for them.

And there's nothing wrong with having a separate segment for the "Groom's Selection" that no one else has access to.

You don't have to serve Coors Light. There are plenty of craft pilseners or kolsches you could sub in, and the people won't mind one bit.

If your wedding is anything like mine, there will be a ton of left over beer. Pick stuff that you like to drink, so the leftovers don't go totally to waste.

That is true, but I think most people like AALs. Although, I think most beer drinkers that are coming enjoy craft beer.
