As Hanglow says, that's Edinburgh for you, especially near Waverley train station and surrounding areas.

Supped a couple of Hobgoblin Golds last night, which i remember being better. Maybe the bottles had been in the corner shop for a few too many months...

At least it'll help me appreciate the hoppy goodness I got from Real Ale in Twickenham today.
    Brew by Numbers latest DIPA,
Verdant/Howling Hops 8 Mansions DIPA, Lervig Tasty Juice,
    as well as
Northern Monk/Siren Tropical Death Party Piña Colada Black IPA
Cloudwater/Against the Grain Make Apple Pie Great Again
just to mix things up a bit.

My brother's in Iceland and says it's £10 a pint. Never going there.

Conquered my fear of the price tag and picked up the Yeast part of the Northern Monk trilogy series. Also Dark Arts and Inhaler from Magic Rock, with Lightbulb and Pulp! from Verdant.
Last thing I got was a cold, so putting the beer on hold and breaking out the whisky for hot toddies.

    Nogne O Pale Ale
    Harviestoun Old Engine Oil

Both from M and S and top notch. Saving myself for next weekends Heretic tap takeover

Early Bird tickets out for Bristol Craft Beer Festival in Sept. Fabulous line up, quality local brewers backed up with the likes of Firestone Walker, Beerbliotek, De la Senne, Verdant, Mikkeller, The Kernel, Beavertown, Siren, Thornbridge to name but a few :

With Moor also having a cracking weekend in June to celebrate their anniversary planned it is going to be a great summer/autumn fest :

I drive by an aldi every day to/from work so picked up some of their latest scottish beer fest beers - tonight had Black Wolf; Pure Gallus -a so-so pale ale , Old Worthy; Cure for Scurvy, a marmalade/whisky strong bitter, pretty decent I thought and a Windswept; Tornado IPA which is not worth buying even at aldi prices

Also got a Fyne Haus Lager, Broughton Hopopotamus Lager and a 6 degrees north Pils, will probably resurrect my lager thread for those

There's a couple of other ones that I'll probably buy, Traquair had a new beer there albeit a weakish one and Strathaven of all breweries have canned a golden ale, I await to be thoroughly nonplussed by it. Also they are selling cans of ceasar augustus for £1.25 each

I've been once, it's great apart from the prices  smoked puffin is a revelation and the place looks like mordor

I tried the 3 I've highlighted above, liked the Old Worthy, thought the Fyne Haus Lager was ok and wasn't fussed with the Windswept IPA. Best ones for me were...
    Eden Mill - Rotweizen,
    Stewart - Radical Road,
    Fallen - Odyssey,
    6 Degrees North - Pilsner.

    Moor Dark Alliance
    Lost and Grounded Saison D'Avon
Lost and Grounded Running with Sceptres
    Lost and Grounded Apophenia
    Arbor Yakima Valley
    Six Degrees North Cherry Chopper
Six Degrees North/Magic Rock Magic Six
    Heretic Coffee Hazelnut Porter
    Heretic Evil Cousin
    Heretic Shallow Grave
    Heretic BA Torment

Great weekend sampling some great local beers, Scottish and American brews. No duffers, standouts for the hops Evil Cousin and Magic Six and for the higher ABV's Torment, lovely BA Belgian like strong ale which was far too easy to drink for it's 10% ABV

My dad is quite ill in hospital and has been in there 2 weeks
So have been using looking forward to a beer to get through some tough days
    -
Stopped into a small Hydes pub and had a pint of Lowry an okay strong English pale but really reflecting the Marston's take over

Cigar City's Madura brown ale which I thought was a bit thin

Neopolitan milk stout that I that was like cheap chocolate milkshake syrup

Brewdog Ace of Equinox and Verdant Pulp
the former a session IPA & latter Double IPA but both very hoppy with a sulphurous snappy finish

Guinness Antwerpen which was the body and quality that regular Guinness should be
Buxton Rain Shadow Single Barrel Bourbon that was immense and like irished up cocoa
Had toad in the hole with Ilkley Dinner Ale which was like an English Saison

I had a lovely pint of Timothy Taylor's Golden Best at a local on Thursday, and a nice pint of Adnams Ghost Ship at the Champion in Notting Hill on Friday. But also came down with the flu on Saturday, which at least will be good for the wallet (and liver). Might treat myself to some tropical fruit juice later and pretend it's a Cloudwater DIPA.

Between Euston Tap, a trip to Glasgow for work (and Bon Accord), hitting a couple small bottle shops, and the return, I had a pretty wide selection of new brews over the last 5 or 6 days:

Desert Sessions (cask) - Thornbridge Brewery
    Limehaus (tap) - Fourpure Brewing
March Of The Penguins (cask) - Williams Brothers
Magic Six (tap) - Magic Rock Brewing
    Cherry Chopper (tap) - Six°North
    Grapevine (bottle) - Fallen Brewing
Peanut Riot (bottle) - Fierce Beer
Hop Candy (tap) - Siren Craft Brew

Hop Candy was the standout beer. Unfortunately, it was also crazy expensive. London prices make me want to just sit at home and enjoy my bottles in peace.

    Odyssey The Cult
    Odyssey Santa Muerte
    Stone IPA
    Oskar Blues Dales Pale Ale

Top 2 from a tap takeover last week from a very good brewery based on these. The back 2 from trip/s to Tesco's. Had to do a double take to see Dales in my local Express store as there's never been anything of note in there.

Favourite beer from a recent trip tp Bristol: Dark Star- Art of Darkness , it was sublime
OK, I was already half gone and the pub was full of cats, so that helped.

Also managed to get a few cans of Cloudwater v12 in Bath (Hunter&Sons) delicious.
I tried to get some v13 online but pretty much impossible to Spain.
If any kind hearted soul feels like helping I´ll see you right
