The OPs reasoning for hating cans is maybe the grossest thing I've heard in awhile - but obviously tons of disgusting things happen in our food supply we aren't aware of. (Thank you food safety regulations - while we still have them)

That said I love whatever I can find from Jack's Abby and Oscar blues, so maybe a quick can wash is in order from now on.

Being American but raised in Belgium has its perks. However I find myself almost completely ignoring canned beers, yes I know its a shame but .....In Belgium only shitty beer is canned or cheap garbage so it just feels wrong to me I can't help it.

    It's just weird for me

That's how it was here in the US too though up until very recently. Bottles have been considered superior for a very long time. Even for soda if you saw a bottled Coke you would buy it over a can because of the perceived improvement. Cans made you think of the cheap, crappy beer your grandfather drank with pull tops. That is what causes a lot of the bias, its very hard to change "common knowledge" even when its based on false info.

Sorry, I was just a little confused as to why you would create a thread about your dislike of cans, not feel like talking about it, and then wonder if someone could tell you why you might be mistaken. It all seems a little odd to me.

Okay...I may have been a bit ambitious in my remarks. I just really love cans and believe they are superior in almost conceivable way, and I'm very quick to defend them. I prefer cans whenever possible.

I miss the pull tops. As a child, I spent many useless, unsupervised hours at the beach making Christmas tree garlands out of them and many more hours deciding whether I could get by with a butterfly bandage or if I needed to go to the emergency room to get a stitch. BA's of a certain age will understand what I'm talking about.

    @Sixpoint

I've never drunk The Crisp out of a glass. I don't even know what it looks like. That narrow can is optimally engineered to be held while also manipulating a canoe paddle or lawnmower throttle, holding a bicycle handlebar, or taking a whizz in the woods.

    There. Cheap unsocilicited promo.

Just recently secured our hops from Germany for the Crisp...they'll be working their way into the refreshed formula...

just a little bit for now....in the Bay area...

not at this time...Just in FL for now...

Cask ale is awesome when the purveyors properly tap and serve it! One of the great "beer-cations" I ever took was a cask ale trip around the UK. Had an awesome time!

Thank YOU for the feedback! This is our roots - we started out on sites like these, homebrewer forums, beer appreciation societies, etc. 20 years in now and still love it as much as when we started...
Not sure what @ecpho trolls us for, never had any beef with this person. Maybe we can talk about it over a beer, since we both are in NYC. Open invite :-)

but you don't like our bottles? :-)

I think of cans as really tiny kegs. And, I like beer from kegs, so why wouldn't I like beer from cans.

    some may call them "nanokegs"

isn't it weird how some refuse to drink canned beer, but they have no problem drinking draft beer?

No harm done. We all have our preferences, and certainly both cans and bottles will be around for a long time to come. Cheers!

Haven't seen any pull tops (wayyy before my time) but a brewery out of Washington packages their beer in tin cans that can only be opened via church key (I shouldn't say "only"....I'm sure a pocket knife or a pair of keys would work but you might risk injury)

I'd love to try this stuff....alleged consistency issues be damned. Narragansett should take note.
