Interesting you don't like shiehallion bevis, I've always liked it and sometimes loved it.

    tastes, eh?

Had another caesar augustus tonight, still banging but their 18 month BBE fills me with dread. Mine was only one month old, I don't care how good their QC is it's not going to be great at 18 months

Was in Inn Deep en-route to Kilmarnock for the football last Saturday and got chatting to a bunch of Leicester fans up for their game against Celtic. They were all drinking Ceasar Augustus and were very impressed with it, I was on Birra and Blues Smoke and 6 Degrees North Redchurch.

I wasn't expecting much but I had to know
    about Camden Hells
    But no
    Helles is my favourite lager
It would be a travesty if Camden reduced the style in this country to this paltry offering

Be nice if someone would revive Barclay Perkins Dark Lager. A lovely beer. Or the original decocted and gespundet Harp Lager.

Whilst in Manchester yesterday had a nice pint of pioneer lager from cloudwater. Pretty nice weather for it too.

    Shindigger pils
I'm giving this twelve thumbs up
    Nice citrus and shortbread aroma
    Refreshing lime flavour
    Easy drinking
2nd best lager I've ever had

Brewdog Kingpin: Papery flavour and nearly flat. 330ml bottle. Rubbish.

Brewdog should stop trying to brew lagers imo, they've all been boring at best . I had a Brewgooder which is also brewed by them, it was ok but nothing more

Innis & Gunn Lager Beer, £5 for a 4-pack of 500ml cans. Pretty happy with this purchase, good quality lager that doesn't try to be clever with New Zealand hops or whatnot.

Three more tonight, both Fyne Haus Lager and 6 degrees North pilsner are good efforts, modern without being too silly on the hops. Broughton Hipopotamus lager is very odd, tastes like grapejuice. I'm drinking it now and it's not getting any better

Yeah, the Fyne Haus and 6 Degrees North Pilsner were good. I didn't bother buying the Hopopotamus as I had tried a pint of it somewhere in Edinburgh before and didn't like it.

I'm pretty keen on Tempest's Munich Helles and also a fan of Camden.

I&G Lager is actually a pretty regular go-to for me, particularly when it's on offer for like £4 a 4pk. Very nice noble hop character and I like the malt-oats combination. Shame it get so overlooked in the ratings

I've tried the I&G on a few times and never been enamored by it

Korev is back in cans in Tesco up here so will rate, also picked up another Caledonia one, not holding up much hope for it but you never know

Not tried that Tempest one, will definitely check it out. I like their Pils but I don't think it's much of a pilsner, more pale ale/golden ale type thing. I suspect there was no lager yeast involved with it, or not much lagering

With new ranges from Co-Op, Tesco and Asda I have quite a few pils and unfiltered lagers
I might call in the help of a lager fan to work through them

I have to agree with those who say the Innis and Gunn beer is a good quality lager. Nicely hopped and a delicious malt flavour. And it's only £5.00 for four 500ml cans in Asda. I really enjoyed it.

The Tempest beer has oats in it so it's not a Helles.

I've had a couple of Cloudwater lagers. They tasted OK, but on two separate occasions proved incapable of keeping a head longer than a minute. Not good enough.

May as well try and keep this going  Three more today

Wimbledon Gold Lager - Not bad, bit too fruity best of the three

Wetherham Bohemian Rhapsody - this was the most interesting by far but it didn't quite work - english malts weren't quite malty enough to cut through what I assume was rather mineral rich english water giving a very dry finish - was a bit soda watery. Needed moar saaz too. But good bitterness and I loved the dryness of it

Redchurch Brick Lane Lager - this was just bad/boring, like a dull golden ale with lots of yeast.

    Freedom Pils, not bad.

A lot of these beers are not bad, so-so etc and while there isn't anything wrong with them in any great way they don't quite do it for me
