No, I cannot. One of the most accurately named consumer products I've ever encountered.

I have not had it in a couple years due to not being able to find it fresh, but when it originally released it was the most fruit forward and juicy IPA that I had ever had. It was one of the last beers that sincerely blew me away. Unfortunately it falls off fast and it may have changed a little since it was released. Also, every time I see it anymore, it is at least 6 months old...

Good ol' Vitamin R. Especially this time of year with the red tabs for trees. Doing my part! Like others have mentioned though I just pick things up here and there that look interesting at a bottleshop. Or I have nothing in the fridge at all (blasphemy!). May repeat now and again with Bale Breaker or Fremont stuff or this winter was Xocoveza for me, too weak to say no to it.

For me it is autobiographical. I also like it fresh as I like the fruit forwardness. I also think it has to do with the yeast strain but I am not a microbiologist.

Music analogy. Sucks is like Deftones. Pretty mind blowing at the time. New music has developed and will continue to develop but I play Deftones from time to time to remind me of back in the day. Familiar.

Got it. Thanks. I guess, for me, Sucks is like Bridgeport IPA and early Replacements and Husker Du albums...right. Now, I think I understand.

I change it up regularly but Bale Breaker and Fremont products tend to turn up frequently.

Right now I got some of the block 15 the incredible . I normally have a few different block 15 beers. A degrade or 2 and whatever the local shops get in, right now its Half Acre brewing from Chicago.

What a brazen position! Since you didn't just dismiss Husker and the Mats out of hand, I assume you're arguing in favor of their late period work, which is a position I have to admit I've never heard before. (Unless you're counting Land Speed Record, which does suck).

I would have gone the opposite way, since both bands late work is totally pedestrian, like Bridgeport Ipa and the current iteration of Sucks.

My fridge beer is currently Lush. And I'm not just saying that. Counting taste availability and price point I can't think of anything that compares.

Heater Allen is going to 500ml bottles at the end of the month. They said for everything, so I don't know if those 4packs of Pils are going to stick around or not.

I don't typically have any one thing in my fridge (other than a de Garde - there's always something from them in there), but here's the ones I go back for multiple times a year:

    pFriem IPA and Pilsner
    Heater Allen Dunkel
    Deschutes Black Butte Porter
    Fort George Cavatica Stout

Figured this was close enough to topic. My in-laws are great. Dad is a miller high life drinker. Which is fine. I can drink the champagne of beers no problem. When he learned I like craft beer he wanted to accommodate. So, his beer fridge always has a sixer or two of field 41 along side his high life in it for when I come over. Anyway, it's been awhile since I have been over. He says I got some beer in there, but it is kinda old, may need to pitch it. Sure enough field 41 and it was canned on Mar 28 2016. I figure, why not? For science. Beer tasted fine. Now I could tell it wasn't canned a month ago, but dang, held up fine in my opinion. Would never guessed it was basically a year old. So, kudos to bale breaker (and my father in law)!

There's usually some Fort George Quick Wit in there. Occasionally Oakshire's Gose to 11.

Back when De Garde's Bu Weisse was regularly available at $4.99 (plus the 10% case discount at Whole Foods) there would always one in there.

And if pFriem's Gose was available year round (and not in those damned expensive little corked and caged bottles) it would be in my fridge all the time.

I can't think of a day where Melvin 2x4 wouldn't be welcome in my fridge. I tend to rotate a 6 pack of beer, mostly locals, but I like to keep a year round craft pils, IPA and stout 4/6 pack in stock.

See, I love each of those records. Except I've never made it through the last song on Zen Arcade.

As a metaphor, though, even though they are scattered and rough and technically improficient, they have something Bridgeport Ipa & Sucks do not have - passion. You can't listen to Bob Mould belting it out on Zen Arcade and say he doesn't care (though folks that value proficient musicianship over passion are right that screaming isn't singing). And I like beer that sings to me, don't get me wrong, but sometimes a beer that screams is pretty great in its own way.

Therefore, I present the alternate analogy -
    Bridgeport Ipa=John Tesh, Sucks=Cinderella.

Maybe someone should do amusic analogy for PNW beers. That would be something.

Not that we're in need, exactly, of yet another fertile avenue for thread drift, but I like the idea of making music analogies for PNW beers. I'll work on some. For the time being, I'd just like to offer this up as my nomination for the official anthem of the Northwest forum:

The third verse is the one that really nails it for me. Also, I think @beertunes is probably the spitting image of Sweetums.
