Good evening NBS, Today's offering for @cavedave and @utopiajane

A - Talent on display, clear with thoughts and observation topping out with often colorful loose knit froth, expressions cling to the memory bank in gentle lacing.
S - Well never really off of the target. (I trust)
M - Verbose, eloquent, often suggestive with amazing descriptors, that leaves one looking forward to the next sentence. Linger is days long.
T - Images painted across the palate, with luxury and intent, curiosity is the driver. Full in body of descriptions, use of language and image, satisfying on all levels.
O - What a pair of Advocates, keeping a tradition, shepherding a weekly exploration of the finest qualities, at the highest levels. Not to be missed but to be appreciated.

Thanks for your curiosity, insight, adventure and challenge to explore.
    Cheers all

NBS beer #2 for me. That first one was had before doing all the days yard work. Now that it is all finished I am rewarding myself with another beer from my BIF box.

    Foothills brewing
    Sexual Chocolate Imperial Stout
    [IMG]

L: Black and smooth with a small tan head that leaves quickly.
S: Espresso and chocolate are first and foremost, followed by something sweet, possibly cherries.
T: In a weird twist the notes at the back end of the smell are at the front of the taste. I am getting toffee and cherries first then a lot of chocolate and a hint of espresso.
F: Light Carbonation and a little thinner than I would like for a imperial stout, but not too far off. Still really solid.
O: Imperial stouts are pretty much my favorite type of beer and this is a really good, if not great, example of one. I love the toffee and fruit flavors coming through and all the flavors seem in good balance.

    Good day my good sir,

I'm glad you've invested so much passion, creativity, and time into ALWAYS keeping NBS fun, fresh, and informative, (basically since the inception). And I agree, in this abbreviated, ticking, digital society, it's more vital than ever to TAKE THE TIME to be thoughtful and intentional when reviewing and discussion your new beer. It's about quality, not neccesassirly quantity. Good beer deserves our time and attention, and interested people (explorers and seekers) rely on our accurate dissemination of our new beer experience. I will continue to go against the grain, knowing slow and thorough wins.

In the undying spirit of craft beer,

    malty

Good evening to the NBS followers as I'm back with my second beer for this Sunday. This again from my NBS BIF #5 box from @Bum4ever I had to check if I had this beer before but BA says I haven't so here it is from Russian River Supplication.
As with all the other "tion" beers that I have had this is a great example of the style. The pinot noir aging comes through in all aspects. The cherries comes through in the finish. Nice smooth drinking with a great finish. This is what you expect in a sour from Russian River. Hard to say anything more about this wonderful beer.

Poured from a 2012 reserve bottle into the test glass.
A - Dark cedar colored, minimal carbonation works its way topside, a thin ring of evidence is proof.
S - Raisin, fig, dark tobacco, toffee and molasses start things off. a bit of dark wood and wet earth.
T - Cigar wrap, brown sugar, caramel, fig pudding. Rich to say the least
M - Slick in body, full palate coating, the swath that's cut across the palate is huge and largely sweet, a nice dry finish is a bit of a surprise.
O - A classic in structure and feel. worth seeking out and savoring.

    Hello my NW friend,

I've never gone ashore, just snuck-off on my dingy. So glad to know you're keeping the torch held high and bright! Mid-MI still is my homeland, and we're slowly making strides to better local beer.

Thanks for keeping NBS fun, fresh, and informative!

Greetings! LOVE NEW BEER SUNDAYS! Rogue 6 hop IPA for my first new beer today. Not a big fan of Rogue beers in general, but I try every single beer I haven't had just because. Look is good, smell not much of anything, feel is more like a pale than an IPA, taste .... Something weird going on here, almost getting like a cough syrup taste??? Really strange? Don't think I'll get this one again.[IMG]

Spectacular appearance: Golden haze with two fingers of fluffy head.

Aroma: Rushes out of the can when opened. Orange, tangerine, mango, lemon, key lime.

Taste: Tropical goodness met, or cut by the rye notes. All the citrus suggested in the nose, but slightly muted. Spicy rye follows, more as it warms. Enough malt for balance and a deluxe overall impression. Recalls some of the Lagunitas IPA's (praise).

Feel: Dry, carbonation hangs on to the end of the glass, inviting.

So excited to have this available fresh. Good times in South Carolina.:stuck_out_tongue::slight_smile:

    Hello Maria,

You thoughtfully and artistically TELL and share what I've preached from the beginning. Now we can share pics, my how we've evolved. But the soul of this (do I dare say, the longest consecutively running and active craft beer thread in Internet history?) NBS community is about what you've carefully and craftfully demonstrated. A deep thank you for everything you've contributed to and enriched NBS with!

    New American IPA Sunday

Hello all! Beautiful 70's and sunny here in Tucson, Arizona. A nice day to have today's brew - from Sierra Nevada - Tropical Torpedo IPA.

I thought it's a nice IPA with pleasant tropical notes.

I scored it all 4.0's landing it a bit above the current average of 3.89. Certainly worth checking out if you like IPA's with fruity hops.

Well, NBS-ers I debated on whether or not to have another beer...that took a helluva lot less time than deciding on WHAT to drink.....Decision made!

The Bruery Terreux Sour In The Rye with Kumquats
    [IMG]

Poured from a 1 pint 9.4 oz. bottle into a Snorkel glass.

Appearance: Dark amber body, thin cap of head.

Aroma: Bright citrus, with that sour aroma coming through!

Taste: Pucker up buttercup! That sourness just mellowed out with the kumquat-citrusness, a hint of oak. Perfect.

    Mouthfeel: Bracingly sour.

Overall: A delicious sour that is even better than I imagined. So tart and sour with a ton of citrus coming through.

Well done! A nice tribute, I feel, and in a fun way; beer should always be fun. Cheers!

Good sir, I was not around to participate in the earlier days of this thread, but since being asked to take over the reins, I have thought about ithe thread in general and its beginnings specifically with a little more curiosity. I think you keyed in on the part of @cavedave's intro today that spoke to me the most. Cheers to you, and I hope (as I believe @lordofthewiens does) that we carry the torch well.

(really only 10 seconds need be watched for my reference to nostalgia, but a nice touch was being reminded of the "magic water" reference).
