This lager is a gorgeous chestnut brown, Unfortunately, even though it's within its "best by" date, it tastes like it's suffered (in transit?). I has the off flavors of cabbage. Taste is nutty and slightly cola-ish. Hop presence is minimal. The swing-top 11.2 oz bottle is adorable. It makes me want to send it off to a German brewer for cleaning and re-use rather than an American recycling center.

And now for Late Night NBS
It's been a busy day but the wife asked, "So are you gonna have something for Sunday?" I said that I wasn't sure. Pause. I ask, "Do you wanna have one?" "It's Sunday," she replies with a mischievous smile. "I think I have a milk stout we can share from John, my BIF sender."

    Condor by Creature Comforts

Pours a deep, dark brown. Mocha colored head rises 2 fingers high, stays for a few minutes, then slowly retreats to a thin film with a milky ring that clings to the glass. Nice, slow, lazy clumps of lacing leave an ever-changing Rorschach test. Hmm, I see me drinking.
Aroma is coffee roast, subtle dark bitter chocolate, and a hint of lactose sweetness.
Taste begins with dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, and a smooth gentle lactose sweetness near the end. And then finishes with a dark, slightly bitter coffee roast.
Mouthfeel is full enough for style. Low carbonation.
Overall a solid milk stout. I think I'd like a tad more in contributions from the lacto and chocolate. I like bitter dark chocolate, but in a beer like this, a tad more sweetness would be preferable.
    Thanks @JBowenGeorgia

    Good evening NBS!

My thanks to @cjgiant for giving me the rundown on how this thread works and inviting me to participate.

This will be my first NBS post and I'm excited to be involved.

In that spirit I give you: 3 Floyds Floy Division 1

22 oz bomber dated 3.2.17 poured into a snifter.

Appearance | 4.75 | Pours deep gold/light amber in color with a gorgeous 2 finger white, foamy head that has good retention. A fair amount of beautiful lacing is left on the glass as the beer is consumed. With the beer held up to the light, small particles can be seen floating in the glass, which reminded me very much of a snow globe.

Smell | 4 | Consistent with the style, the aroma is hop-forward, featuring pine and citrus notes as well as pineapple.

Taste | 4.25 | Following the nose, the taste also showcases the hops, with a fruity citrus and pineapple character. These flavors in combination with the aroma give the beer a nice tropical feel. Pine follows the fruit, which is then followed by a slightly bitter finish.

Feel | 4.25 | Medium in body and carbonation. Very pleasant mouth feel.

Overall | 4.5 | I'm glad I chose this for NBS. This is a very good IPA that I would buy again in a heartbeat.

Pours lighter hello. Thick, medium, white head that lasts a while.

Smells juicy Citrus and tropical. Hints of malt.

Tastes lighter in taste than other NE ipas but all the flavors are there. Citrus, tropical, melon, light Pine, juicy, light malt. Finish is semi-dry with a lingering Orange and grapefruit.. Medium body and smooth, creamy medium carbonation

If I wanted to quote all the kind words of thanks and appreciation shared today for Maria and me it would be a whole other thread, so I chose this post as one that kind of covers all the bases. I am deeply moved by this outpouring and I want you to know that I love all you guys, and look forward to NBS every week for a chance to share that time with you.

I still believe that we should arrange some sort of in person get together and share some beers at a Saloon that isn't Virtual, or a major pub crawl. Just an idea, but I volunteer my place for it, plenty of room for camping or crashing on the floor, lotta beer in cellar for a share, and my area is killer for a brewery crawl, a friend actually has a business doing it and a bus. Something for the new hosts to think about?

Anyway, thanks to each and every one of you wonderful folks, again, for all the kindness shown, I can't wait to be back as just that guy who writes badly and is way overcritical of beers he is incapable of tasting with his crappy palate, nor enjoying with his bad attitude.

I was at that show, wish they were set up better for sound, which was awful, and the weather didn't cooperate either, but the music quality that day was definitely good

Thanks, so glad you chimed in. Not sure if even you remember when you had the idea for New Beer Sunday, but that day should be celebrated. It has coalesced into a fun tradition that you merely have to go through today's thread to see how much so many appreciate. Thanks for giving launch to this idea that keeps improving and growing, as does the fine beer universe surrounding.

And thanks for your kind words, they mean a lot to me, sir. In the undying spirit of peace and love (hey I'm a hippy) and fine beer.. Cheers!

Nice job! You totally nailed that Korean "Stout, which is kinda not too shabby if you avoid the label and think of it as a cheap Schwarzbier.
