For example, brighter NEIPA's don't use oats, neither is better but they are different.

The real question is when are they going to paint their stack black

My first thought pulling up to the taproom was "What the hell? False advertising!"

That's some job painting that stack but it's got to be done now! also in the same complex the water tower will be going glass! That's slated for this summer.

They have to paint 96 small test stacks black before they'll be ready to paint the big one.

(I promise I'll only use this joke agian if I'm drinking a Saga at Sporty's.)

Hey! Thanks for listening Blackstack! TrueStone have seriously excellent coffee so hoping u can tap into their expertise to add some cool varieties of Coffee Stout, Coffee Porters ,Coffee Milk Stouts to your year round lineup. I would happily drink them all if they are good!

Stopped in last night and snagged a pour of both Local 755 & 756. For my money, I thought 756 was the clear winner. Mild bitterness, easy drinking, great nose, overall a tremendous beer. Heck, my wife, who really is not a fan of IPAs (due to the bitterness) had a 12oz pour and if not for having to drive home, would have had more. The location is massive and ready made for expansion, and I hope they are able to do just that.

Drawbacks: $8 for a pint of a 6.0% ABV IPA is steep, for sure. I also tried the White Beer, which was fine, but nothing too impressive there and I likely would not order it again.

Overall I came away impressed with the setup and the beer. Here's to hoping things continue to improve and BlackStack becomes a fixture in the MN beer scene for years to come.

Was able to make it down and try the galaxy today. Chalk me up as a huge fan. Easily on par with my two current mn favorites (blissful ignorance and dreamyard) and my initial reaction was that I preferred the galaxy to both. Was able to meet the friendly Murphy to boot. Great place, look forward to their bright future

I stopped in today as well and sampled the 756 Galaxy, not a fan at all. There was something off with the bittering to me. It was not juciy and the bittering was too astringent to even enjoy, I couldn't finish it. With all the fan fair, and granted it is just one beer, I can't say I am very impressed with their beer thus far. The space is nice though.

This is the perfect example why for all the posting, commenting, and rating we and others do in the name of beer people need to look past the hype sometimes and try stuff for themselves. Buy what you like. Drink what you like. You don't like something someone else gave a rave review of? Cool. Move on. No bigs. You loved a beer and saw someone else post a drain pour video of it? Bummer. That person is a d-bag for said video, but oh well, what can you do? This forum is much much better than others I begrudgingly frequent but I'm so sick of people attacking one another over their opinions of something that is inherently subjective. C'mon people, it's just beer! /rant

I don't mean this in any way personally since I don't know either of you and your opinions on a beer I haven't tried are 100% valid.

I don't agree. There are a lot of fanboys here and why wouldn't one want honest opinions on both sides of the spectrum. I would think the brewers would like more than just positive feedback so they can tweak what needs tweaking.

Sorry, I must not have been very clear, I don't think you and I disagree at all. I totally support posting their feedback on a beer, be it positive or negative. I just thought it was interesting that two comments in a row were a completely opposite impression of a beer and thought it was an apt reminder that while such feedback is meaningful and can be helpful ultimately what's most important is an individuals personal tastes and preferences. I was indicting those who reject and insult the opinions of those they don't agree with, not those who share their opinions in general.

What's nice about Blackstack is with all the variations for "Local" planned there will indeed be a lot of tweaking.
