With Founders having recently opened up distro into EWA, I've seen a few of their BA variants hit out shelves....nice.

Now, with KBS week having just happened, i'm sure distribution will start making its way out to their respective markets. Wondering if it's likely that Spokane will see KBS, or if we are "too new?"

    Thanks

Seattle is getting it (in April), so I'm guessing Spokane will too.

Boise also in April. When I lived in Texas Founders did a good job at hitting all of their territories. That said the distro might be pretty small, so much so places might be breaking up 4 packs. to sell them.

The last few years I've only ever heard of stores selling them by individual bottles.

I know people in Austin last year that were able to get 4 packs pretty easily, it didn't last real long but was happening. Production was up and quality was down a little too though.

Not sure about bottles, hearing that Manito/Lantern/Pints will get draft.

thanks, that's sweet too. Try it fresh on tap and then have a bottle or two over the following months.

I've tried aging KBS but the coffee disappears after a while

Don't mean to threadjack, but I still haven't seen the standard Breakfast Stout in Spokane. Anybody had better luck?

We barely got any in Boise (think only a couple of places got any), guessing was too late in the season and saved the majority for Portland and Seattle. Same for Imperial Stout. Ready for Curmudgeon now anyway.

Didn't see any in Spokane as of this afternoon (Friday March 24th). Checked a few places. BUT, there is still some floating throughout Seattle, including a few QFC grocery stores. Most of the pricing is around $10.99-$11.99. Not sure if you will be around Seattle soon, but it is here.

Also saw plenty of KBS in and around Kansas City last week. In fact, I grabbed a four-pack of last years 2016 version that was sitting on a shelf in KC.

I saw it a Happy's Market in Ellensburg a week and a half ago, there's probably some still there.

It seems to be somewhat hit and miss. I saw cases of it at Total Wine in the Valley when they had a big promo showcasing we had Founders. Then, I've hardly seen it at all since

Still no sign in Spokane, bottle wise. I'll let you know if I see anything.

Toronado is going to have it on tap today as well.

I'd like a single 12 oz bottle, but not going out of my way or doing anything stupid for one.

Got a 12 oz bottle at Bottleworks. They had lots of both sizes (singles only).

Bottleworks was out when I stopped by at about 630, on my way home from Fremont.

Had it on tap tonight at Roscoes. I've had this beer many times in the past, most recently a vertical of 2013-2015 (which I thought were excellent).

Found this year's very basic but obviously enjoyable. Tasted like a very straightforward imperial coffee stout but I got very little bourbon barrel notes. Compared to the last 5-10 BBA stouts I've had, this one definitely underwhelms. Rhino suit, Matryoshka, KDS, DB Jesus, and plenty others stand a few notches above this year's version of a classic .

Without any hype, this beer is very good. But I must say it resembles much more of a garden variety coffee stout than a once-a-year BBA special release
