As session IPA's go, this is pretty darn good.

Good morning BA, have a great Saturday! Also April fools day, so it should be an interesting day on the internet. I am running really low on new beers to review, so I am going to try and resolve that later this morning. Hope to get a nice beer haul in today. Gave myself a haircut earlier. It just gets way too thick and annoying and I need to cut it all off routinely. Feeling much more refreshed now, but also cold lol.

Fantastic pale ale! Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine hops; with moderate malt sweetness of caramel, brown sugar, and toasted biscuit; and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus peel/rind bitterness on the finish. Very smooth medium body; balanced hop stickiness and bready Munich malt creaminess in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, with no hop astringency. Absolutely love the balance and the juiciness of the Cascade/Centennial hops in combination with the bready malt bill. Deschutes rarely disappoints. Glad we get this in Oakland county this year, was unavailable unless I went to Wayne county last year. Grabbed a full 6 pack earlier in the week.

Incredible again this year. Flavors of huge pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, passion fruit, papaya, guava, grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange peel, and pine hops; with some honey/bready malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/rind/grassy bitterness on the finish. Sticky/resinous mouthfeel with some grainy creaminess. Moderate increasing bitter dryness, zero hop astringency. Super juicy and dank, with just enough malts for bitterness balance. Medium bodied mouthfeel. Lightly warming 8% ABV. Amazing stuff. One of the juiciest DIPAs I've ever had in recent memory; literally tastes like tropical fruit juices. Will definitely buy more singles while I can.

October 2014 batch. Amazing as usual. Flavors of caramel, toffee, brown sugar, molasses, vanilla, toasted oak, bourbon, coconut, and light chocolate; with some raisin, plum, fig, and date yeast fruits; with light hints of leather, tobacco, smoke, and herbal notes. Touch of drying bourbon/oak spice against sweetness. Creamy/silky medium-full body mouthfeel. Insanely smooth. Fantastic flavor balance, everything is pretty much perfectly integrated right now. Definitely one of my top favorite cellar beers to buy every year, as with most all of Founders imperial stuff. Still have a couple '14s left; and plenty of '15 and '16. I need to update this review, as it has been over 5 years. A top favorite, but not as amazing as my review back then would claim, on my current scoring standards.

Absolutely fantastic! Flavors of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, fudge, marshmallow, vanilla, caramel, toffee, bourbon, toasted oak, and dark bread; with light notes of smoke, charcoal, coconut, raisin, fig, cherry, and dates. Light-moderate roast/char bitterness and bourbon/oak spice on the finish. Very full bodied creamy/silky mouthfeel; with some light slickness, chalky roast, and barrel tannins. Lightly increasing dryness from bitter roast and bourbon/oak tannins. Very smooth sipper, mildly warming 12.9% with nearly zero boozy barrel notes. Definitely a step up from the base beer on complexity. Very rich and complex. Classic RIS flavors with awesome barrel presence; without being overly tannic, drying, or boozy.

Picked up this glass for their collaboration with De Garde and Sante Adairius on a recent trip out to De Garde. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any of the bottles for sale…

Good morning BAs! Finally a sunny day here in MI - just in time for the drive home! At least I won't be driving through rain and slush again. Today's New Breakfast Beer:

They're trying to fool us - this is a delivery system for coffee cleverly disguised as beer for us coffee non-drinkers!

Although I'm not a big fan of Fat Tire, I picked up the Fat Tire & Friends pack last summer. Most of the collaborating brewers are not distributed here in southern IN and I thought the concept was brilliant.

This Fat Wild Ale had an enjoy by date of 5/7/17, so I let it hang out in the cellar fridge all winter to see what happened. Very dry now from the Brett and pronounced pineapple taste. Drink well & enjoy your Saturday BA.

This one makes unique beer #800 for me. And a great one. My favorite style.

And you can never go wrong with allagash white. One of my all time favorites.

First time with this, and it's definitely different. I actually like this more than the other quads I've had.

    Cheers.

It's great to be back, everybody!!!

I took the month of March off from beer and it definitely paid some dividends. But now it's time to celebrate with a brewski or two. I just hope the beer Gods will forgive me for easing into it at first-

Coming out of the gates strong this AM finishing this gem/2nd pour from last night's opening.

Sidenote: Me opening this bottle and deciding to 'solo' it last night, as opposed to sharing it led to an hour long pissing match with a good friend (he got his butt hurt that I didn't split it with him). Full disclaimer: 98% of the time I share/split bombers.

Sometimes, you just can't win .... but I am winning this morning so F him :grinning:

Cheers to the virtual bar. Lol!

Your absence was noted, even before the brief relapse on NBS last week . Welcome back!

Decided it's spring, so twe me to revive a little ritual I quite enjoy - walking to the store to grab something for a meal. Today was a breakfast scramble:

Homemade breakfast with homemade beer. The breakfast was better (granted it was much fresher than the beer). Cheers, BA!!
