Saw a picture of someone holding a can of LIC Dutch Kills at Citi Field on Instagram a few days ago. It was weird...the can had a black label rather than the original label. This could have easily been a dream or a residual consequence of the choices I made during my teenage years, though.
There's a decent selection at a place near shake shack but I wouldn't bother with anything hoppy. Granted it's also ab, but I had a mosaic session from blue point and it ended up being 8 months old or something like that. Mikkeler just cut a deal with them this year, an IPA named Harry something and a pils named sally something
I have seen photos of both of these beers and was hoping someone knew if it was a booth or something? I guess I'll walk around and see what I can find. Can't be as bad as yankee stadium am I right guys???
Pretty sure there are special edish Mikkeller 16oz cans @ Citi this year. EDIT: I fact checked my reply and found this: Mikkeller San Diego is proud to announce our launch of two new canned beers brewed for Citi Field, home to the New York Mets, in NY. The cans are designed specifically for Citi Field with the Mikkeller characters Henry and Sally portrayed as ‘1980’s era baseball-cards. As a bonus, the cans are easier to hold, but just as cool as a giant foam finger. The design were done by Mikkeller’s longtime in-house designer, Keith Shore. The two beers will be available in cans and on draft at Citi Field from opening day next week. Mikkeller Henry Hops – IPA – Bright aromatics boasting orange blossom honey, pine needles, and ripe mango. Wonderfully balanced biscuit and toasted notes pair with lightly resinous hop bitterness to leave a crisp finish. Mikkeller Say Hey Sally – Pilsner – Bursting with floral hops and a soft cracker-like malt structure, layers of sunflower and pineapple develop a delicate hop profile. With hints of earth and slate, a snappy finish awakens the palate with medium hop bitterness and a dry backbone.
Citi Field has def upped their beer game. The Millekker IPA was really nice. Found a tub with stuff from Bells, Victory, Stone, Millekker, Coney Island, Odell and others. Cheers!
Southern Tier, Blue Point, Sierra Nevada, Bronx Brewery, Sixpoint. I much rather go to Citi Field than Yankess stadium. Better food at Citi Field too.
Have had bells two hearted and Oberon there. Several other local items as well. Unfortunately, however, I suspect they will get bribed/pressured into only doing ab/inbev beers eventually. Same thing happened at giants stadium when the new place opened they had a few decent option but now just crap
Yankee stadium is a wasteland for beer. The only options there are goose IPA or 10 barrel apocalypse.
So I'm happy to say that 5 level section 516 there's a stand " Empire State craft" Where the options were Flagship Newburgh cream ale Bluepoint toasted LIC Dutch kills And the mikkeller Pilsner And stone ripper or session ipa don't remember But nice to see local can options available. I got Dutch kills and both the mikkellers and it only cost me an arm.
