    Goose Island BCBS

Tough to narrow to 5. But I think if those were available on the shelf they would all end up in the cart every time.

    Founders CBS
    Founders KBS
    Bells Black Note
    Shorts BB Evil Urges
    Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier Dunkel

I have a lot of 4.5s that would get an honorable mention.

Good to see 515 mentioned, OJ is excellent, also pairs great with wings. Have you had any of their other beers? Passe is probably my favorite from them.

Hilarious. Someone responded to this 2015 thread and I find the evolution of my taste interesting. My response from from 2015 above. Today it would be:

    1. Alien church
    2. Edward
    3. Parabola
    4. 2016 unfiltered born yesterday
    5. Grassman.

    1. Prairie Pirate Bomb
    2. BA Fidy
    3. BCBS
    4. Prairie Coffee Noir
    5. KBS
    This is not necessarily how my scores read, since these were scored on different days and at different points in my craft experience. I looked at them and then considered which I preferred over the others. Real tough to limit to top 5, so the next ones are;
    • Prairie BA Bomb
    • Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier
    • Summit Dark Infusion
    • Prairie Pe-Kan
    • Abyss
    • BA Darkness
    • Central Waters Cassian Sunset
    A stout heavy list!

I might've replied to this a couple years ago but, oh well. Don't feel like digging around for that, and things change

    So currently.....

    Rochefort 8
    Weihenstephaner Hefe
    The Abyss
Firestone Walker Union Jack (whenever I can actually find it fresh)
    Orval

I guess, I always feel like I'm leaving a lot out that should be in there. I usually throw Duvel in but I had some Rochefort 8 for the first time in a couple years ago the other night and I was in beer heaven. The balance they achieved with that beer is astounding. So...Duvel got bumped out....this time:grinning:

Another runner up would be Samichlaus. Nothing quite like it and I'm not often in the mood but when I am and it's got a bit of age on it that beer is untouchable.

I guess it depends on how you define "favorite". Is it the best beers I've had and the ones I would drink if I could get them regularly? Or is it the stuff I actually get on a regular basis? Two very different lists.

    "best"...

    1) French Vanilla Militia
    2) Vanilla Rye
    3) Morning Wood
    4) King Sue
    5) Pretty close between Prop 13, Parabola and Fundamental Observation (yes, I'm a vanilla *****)

Obviously those are very difficult to get for the most part.

Most regular rotation in my fridge...

    1) Zombie Dust
    2) Whatever Pipeworks IPA bomber is fresh
    3) Founders Imperial Stout (seasonal, but easy to restock)

After that, it's a mix of pale ales where I go in spurts (Ninja vs Unicorn, Lizard King, Navaja most regularly, Todd the Axeman if I can get it less than a month old, plus whatever is at Mikerphone now that they are open).

If we ever regularly get Toppling Goliath bombers in Illinois, those will move way up.
