Kane Brewing (April 2017)

I aIready posted my Double Barrel ANTEAD for trade in the in person section. I'd do it for a set.

 

Definitely busy over there. Only small wait for antead. Very organized back there. License plates from all over the place! Talked to the guys checking ids and multiple people already tried to pick up for others... including somebody who waited 2 hours before opening

 

The wording of their FB post pretty much confirms a silent release for the rest at some point no?

Thats my karma for driving out to Dark Lord Day the last few years. I got their beer so they got mine this year

 

This shit reminds me of the William Shatner Star Trek skit on SNL years ago: "Get a life, would you people. It's just a TV show." But substitute "TV show" with "beer."

 

By 230 when I got there not too crazy. Pretty organized. They were out of ripple cans by then and no line for bottle pickup. Beware those traveling south on parkway it is jammed up around 130

 

I went there early to get Head High out of fear of traders being desperate and general shenanigans as well as people buying out cans just because they were there already. Met Indiana mole people but I'm glad to hear it's a little calmer now. May swing back by again.

 

What did they think of Dark City?

 

I wish they did this release like MDW so those who won would at least have to sit in a lot of traffic.

 

damn out of Ripple cans, I got stuck at the car dealer way too long today and I wanted to try to go and grab some more before it got bought out by everyone getting their ANTEAD.

Next weekend is Easter, maybe some new cans the following week?!

 

Dark City was packed. Biggest crowds ever.

 

i had such a hard time getting a seat at the bar, I gave up my coconut antead. had been dying to try the dark city IPA, and it was well worth the trade!

 

Sneakbox cans sold out around 4:00 pm today.

I was pretty unimpressed with Cove at Raglan—good but not great. I have not had Party Wave, but I think Wind Swell is better than Raglan.

 

I feel like I missed a golden opportunity there. I did get to see the look on my wife's face when the people said they were from Indiana. That was worth going for, alone.

 

I missed out on the ANTEAD lottery but I think the real win here is seeing that my Jersey brethren only support Jersey breweries.

I feel guilty admitting that I've made the 6+ hr drive (one way) to Vermont on many occasions. It's only now that I realize Hill Farmstead locals must hate seeing my Jersey plates.

Looks like it's Kane only from here on out (and apparently Dark City is on the come up)

 

semi-OT....I don't know if I've ever seen it mentioned itt before, but if you get the craving for hot dogs after drinking at Kane, there is a place around the corner in the shopping complex called Sonny's Hot Dogs. They have ~40 different combinations of dogs.

Thanks for everyone to their helpful suggestions! Unfortunately I did not make it to Dark City or Beach Haus but Kane was pretty sweet and picking up the ANTEAD set plus other Kane offerings was even sweeter! Maybe I can make it out to these places at another time. Cheers!
