Founders - New Barrel-Aged Series Release: DKML

While it doesn't sound too inviting to me, I'd probably pick up a single and give it a shot. I will say, Founders will sure try things other breweries wouldn't even consider. Hope it gets classified as an American Malt liquor too. Would dominate the ratings in that category, lol.

 

I think this is the name thowing people off. Founders could make a barrel aged beer called Tuberculosis and I'd definitely try it before saying "Pass!"

I'm a firm believer if PAM was labeled "stout" rather than black IPA, more people would have been into it.

 

This would have been the most ridiculous Backstage Series schedule:

Feb - Frootwood (neat, something new!)
Apr - KBS (old fav. keeps Founders on everyone's radar)
May - Doom or Proj. PAM (that cool)
July - Better Half (right on! Anticipation for CBS is growing...)
Oct - Backwood B'**** (see KBS comment)
Dec - CBS (Merry Fuckmas!)

Then....

Feb 2018 - DKML (neat, something new...)

 

I think May is Bolt Cutter
December- CBS

I do wish they were making an anniversary beer this year, I actually enjoyed bolt cutter quite a bit. 4 packs of that would be much easier to handle.

 

I suppose that it will be similar to Summer Sizzler (https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1199/181069/). My Better Half reveries are dashed again!

 

Yeah, won't be cheap! Not thrilled by the sounds of it, but I'll be compelled to try a single. I agree with others that the barrels should have been used for CBS - but they need maple barrels for CBS.

Just awesome, I cannot wait to try this one, game on....I think it will surprise big time, just have that feeling.

 

I'm a Founders homer. I'd probably buy at least one four-pack of Koz's spit if they bottled it. I'm sure this will be delicious, like most things they do!

 

I just envision Mickeys Malt with a bit of artificial bourbon flavor. The Frootwoood didn't interist me, actually none of they really do.

 

I'm not super stoked on it, but I'll surely try it with an open mind.

I was holding out hope that we'd see the BA Honeystuff from Cellar Raid re-appear. That stuff was great.

 

Not looking forward to this one or Doom.
