Since the brewery release tickets seem to always be session A, if your friend is willing to front the ticket price, there is no doubt that someone at the fest would be willing to fully reimburse said friend the ticket price for a Handjee... take that as you will.

 

Mother's Day weekend throws things off - luckily I'm not married/no kids haha.

I am considering going alone, tho. I've been shut out on tix the past few years having tried each year since I've lived in Indiana (4 yrs). I've always been in Grand Rapids for KBS week when tix are released, thus throwing things off and I always get qu'ed or whatever on my phone trying to get tix.

I'm sure if I have some good beers to share (I will) I'll make some friends.

Side note: if you have an extra, would you sell to me?!

 

It seems like you live near by so why not. I mean I wouldn't fly out to munster, indiana for it.

 

I don't live in Munster but I'm close in Porter County.

 

I don't know where that is but if it is close enough just uber in and out. You probably won't be the only person there who showed up alone.

 

The argument for not going alone is if you haven't been to DL before or have no self control you probably don't want to pass out and rely on emergency medical personnel to get you home.

 

But another thought on this, you have no friends to take care of when they do stupid stuff.

You're welcome to join our group. Last year, we welcomed a couple from New York to our share, and it was great.

If not, it's very easy to make friends and before you know it be part of a group.

 

I know a lot people have mentioned this already, but who is in group B? This will be my first time at DLD, along with my +1, and would love to hook up with a group a BA's to share with.

I will make sure to paste my BA on my forehead!

 

If you don't mind getting over the initial awkwardness of sharing with people you don't know that well, then you'll be fine. Last year was my first DLD and I only went with one person (we met up with more inside), but by the time we had been in line half an hour, we were chatting like old friends with the folks behind us who were in from Ohio. All I did was offer them a pour shortly after we lined up, then they pulled out a 3 year BCBS vertical and it was all downhill after that.

As a couple others have said you'll have to make sure you don't overdo it without a group to watch your bag, but that's pretty much the only thing I would worry about.

 

We need a "Who's in what group" spreadsheet.

 

Honestly, if lines moved like they did last year you will probably only spend about 30-60 minutes in your group line.....you'll be sharing beers all day with lots of people.

 

I think this would be more productive than the "write your BA name on your forehead" stuff. I'm probably wearing a hat!

To be fair, one of the tabs in the sheet @Jaycase posted is "DLD share." However, no one has added to it yet.

 

Long time lurker, 1st time poster. (Too lazy to read the previous 64+ pages of comments)

This will be my 4th DLD, (Group B here as well). Any rumors on Variants? Like, legitimate rumors? I've heard everything from Handjee being infected and thus no BVDL this year, to extremely low bottle counts and only Group A guaranteed variants, and even Pappy Vanilla.

Rumored variants that keep popping up include:

• Tequila
• Mezcal
• Hickory Smoked
• Aquavit
• Earl of Biggleswade
• Bourbon.

(It would be hard for me to imagine no Muerte as that seems to always be on the list, and I'd like to see Brandy again.)

Also, I plan on bringing BA Darkness, Bourbon Sunny Side Up, Bourbon Vietnamese Sunny Side Up, lots of Trillium IPAs, Jester King Colour Five, KBS, New Glarus Raspberry Tart /Belgian Red, and Casey Peach Cut.

 

Rumor a few pages back that some of the variants might be FVM, Double Barrel DL, Cherry and Coffee.
