Just returned from a nice long weekend in Nottingham. Some nice bars and local ales :

    Pipes Session IPA
Totally Brewed Chocolate and Hazelnut Porter
Totally Brewed Grand Papa Jangles Voodoo Stout
Summer Wine Co. Hi Ratio Nelson
    Thornbridge Raindrop in Roses
    Thornbridge Cocoa Wonderland
    Beavertown/Dry and Bitter Timmy DIPA
    Two Beers Wonderland Trail IPA
    Two Beers Jive Espresso Stout
    Deya Steady Rollin Man
Black Iris Stab in the Dark
    Magic Rock Demonali IPA

No real duffers, liked the Grand Papa and great artwork from Totally Brewed. Summer Wine Co, and Deya also highlights. Managed to grab a bottle of Buxton/Omnipollo Original Lemon Meringue Ice Cream Pie so well set.

I've heard the Human Cannonball is pretty good this year.

Had the can of human last night. Absolutely better than last years, 500ml can is awsome as well. Didn't need another beer after it. Still got an unhuman to look forward to now!

You heard right. Echo George's points as well.
Beerritz still has some Human Cannonball available, if you missed it. All un-human stock now sold out.

So tonight I was at hop city at northern monk in Leeds where there were alchemist beers available. I had heady topper and focal banger as well as the luscious stout. The stout was actually my favourite of those and honestly the heady was good but these type of beers are easily available all over the country now. I also had an other half beer which was amazing.

Opening night of Left Handed Giant Taphouse in Bristol :

    Apricot Saison
Black Belgian IPA (collaboration with local brewery Tileys)
    BFG
    BA Flat White
    Duet Citra/Motueka

Great to see this establishment open after a winter recess and lots of Bristolians enjoyin the ales and food. All good ales, standout was the Duet, really nice citrus hopped easy drinking ale. They have a number of barrel aged beers on the go and like the Flat White can't wait to try. The beermats were advertising Beavertown Extravaganza in Sept, what a line-up of breweries !!

I might pick one up from Real Ale in Twickenham when I'm there on Monday if they have some left, but I'm not too bothered really. Still got a v13, a Conan DIPA, a Hop City and an Eternal Infinity to get through. I'll be all hopped out by Tuesday!

Saw that Valhalla's Goat have both Human Cannonballs and am going to Glasgow tomorrow, win/ win. Also going to BrewDog, the brand new I&G Kitchen, Crossing the Rubicon and Hippo Taproom, great to have Monday off work.

The State bar is always worth a visit too if you are at Hippo taproom. Although you could be too far gone by then :grinning:

I had an Un-Human cannonball the other day and I don't know if it was because it was at the end of a quite heavy session or I was starting with a virus but it wasn't the super frickin awesome experience I was expecting.
By no means in any way bad or at all poor in any aspect just I thought it would be Guardians of the Galaxy & it was Iron Man 3.
Last night four bottles and a can took me to the 2000 different beer marker.
Old School Brewery Detention which was any okay bitter.
Sierra Nevada Nooner that was a spritely refreshing pilsner.
Wincle Beer Co. Old Oak that was a great English Strong ale.
    Finally
Trappistes Rochefort 8, a Belgian strong dark that was IMHO a more rounded drinking experience than Westy 12 and not far off their spectacular Rochefort 10.
    Right then,
five hundred more beers & I might have the tiniest bit of ale drinking experience to claim.
    That starts with tonight's choice
    Little Valley Cragg Vale Bitter
    Flyingdog Numero Uno
    Brew York Pale
    Shneider Weisse Meine Festweisse
& putting the end to all sobriety
Uiltje Mind Your Step Double Bourbon Barrel Aged
which at 19.2% might be a challenge in itself

Had a fab afternoon out in Glasgow's West End for Mrs. K's birthday. Between us we had...

Innis & Gunn - Kith and Kin Whisky barrel aged stout (schooner), lovely,
Innis & Gunn - Marshmallow Milk Stout (half pint), very nice, but maybe too sweet,
    Anchor Steam Beer (pint) nice,
Kruzovice (pint) nice, but strange texture,
Fallen - Salted Caramel Chew Chew (can) excellent,
Drygate - Disco Forklift Mango IPA (pint) very nice,
Beavertown - Bloody 'Ell IPA (Half Pint) amazing,
Pilot - Deeps (half pint) really liked this,
Williams Bros. - Black Ball stout (half pint) very nice,
Williams Bros. - Joker Double IPA (half pint) easily my favourite beer of the day.

Also bought a very nice bottle of Shiraz, Beavertown - Coffee Stout and of course Beavertown - Human Cannonball and In-Human Cannonball from Valhalla's Goat, just home and not had them yet.

Had a Heady Topper from Hop City, very balanced IPA, has a certain sweetness to it, top beer, glad I got to try. Not quite as mind blowing as the unhuman cannonball I had at Magicrock day of launch though. Great times for beer in the U.K.

just tried the Un-human Cannonball, wow!!! it's powerful. 11% and it tastes like that, not hating it, but find it a bit too powerfull.

Seen some awful reviews of the -human Cannonballs. Human tasting like tomato, basil and onions and Unhuman like a too boozy mess.

I thought there was a slight unsettling bicarb flavour to the Un-Human

So whilst cooking Easter Sunday lunch tried St. Peter's Without
An alcohol free beer that is mire like a malt drink.
Then said thus about the Rick Astley & Mikkeler beer -
    "
You know me, I love music & enjoy the occasional beer so these gimmick beers do get my attention. Though it does make me ponder, because his music was SAW it was at real odds at what I listened to at the time but even so recognised he had a half decent voice but would old Mikk be interested if It wasn't for Rick Rolling.
What I found most surprising I'd that aside from Five Oh Brew co Godflesh beer etc my favourite big brew and band was Wychwood's Status Quo beer, both names I would naturally avoid.
Biggest disappointment was Thornbridge collab with Reverend and the Makers.
All this made me think even more
Elbow, a band I heard described as the music the Roadies for Simply Red listen to when at home, had beers with both Robinson's and Marston's.
So it brought up the question with both brewers perchance for brown twig water, are they seriously together, are they f*cking or was it coincidence they snuck out together?"
