im going to be stuck in the downtown area working this week. Are there any places that have a decent beer selection downtown? I am looking for something decent to bring back to my hotel. Thanks
To my knowledge, downtown Atlanta is a craft beer wasteland. Taco Mac has a good selection to drink there, but otherwise Uber or drive out to Hop City. It's not horribly far.
Meehan's will work in a pinch or Max Lagers. Or you could take a short hike to Gordon Biersch, Taco Mac or TAP.
I see people say this a lot but damn every time I go their Hot Wings with Blue Cheese are rock solid....some of my favorite wings anywhere...never tried their other stuff
A long walk or short Uber/Lyft ride gets you to Midtown and a few more options. Another Taco Mac, World of Beer, The Vortex and Cypress Street. But, I will also endorse Max Lagers. Really good house beers and the upstairs bar has some good guest taps. Mac's Beer and Wine in Midtown is also a good spot for bottles.
It's all frozen, processed, microwaved sludge. Maybe some of it isn't awful or better than other items, but there's not a piece of fresh anything in the entire operation.
I'd say go to Hop City if you need some beer and then skip the rest and go straight to Holeman and Finch and eat, eat, and eat some more. If I remember correctly, they have a decent beer selection, at least they use to anyway.
Gotcha...I've never ventured outside getting anything but wings there...I go to The Midtown Location every time I'm in town cause I always stay at The Hilton Garden Inn and it's got a decent craft selection and it's walkable from the hotel
Go to Max Lagers . They just recreated the Helenboch and have the GABF bronze winning Wild Ale Excommunication on.
