Carton Brewing (April 2017)

theres 1 store in my town that used to get Carton cans every few months. NOW it's nearly every single month and multiple brews. AND Carton cans are now being sold at my go-to store. YES

life is so good

 

While I haven't had a lot of Black IPA's to have a good frame of reference, I thought Twin Elephant's Chingas was very good.

 

Yea I'm definitely not a Black IPA guy so take this with a grain of salt but I thought Brotherton's Black IPA was really good. Also really liked Epitome obv

 

I definitely enjoyed Twin Elephant's Chingas... I totally forgot about that one.

I haven't had Brotherton's yet. I did enjoy Demented Brewing's Café Negro though. Still finding that Epitome tops that NJ list still, for now

Literally the day after my vacation ends. Anyway, sounds good!

 

Totally unrelated but finally cracked my last All Orange Everything for the 1 year mark and I'm honestly upset I didn't store more of these. Heat is gone. Straight dank orange juice.

 

I opened one on Easter, was surprised how much hop aroma was left.

NJ Stout Wars update...

Kane releases ANTEAD and people fly in from California to pick up their bottles.

Carton releases a Cognac barrel aged stout and there are a few posts.

Craft beer is weird.

 

Sundae is REALLY good

 

Craft beer may be weird but you don't really expect the same buzz/talk/demand for a brand new beer nobody's ever heard of to be anywhere near the level of an award winning, world class rated, stout thats been highly sought after for years (just because it's also barrel aged) do you? Rewind back to hours after ANTEAD was first announced/released and I am sure all was quiet on the western front also.

 

Is Sundae an, it'll hang around a bit beer or is this thing like gone already?

 

I know it was quiet at the first ANTEAD release, I was there I just thought it was a fun observation to make.

 

I have that same thought when Magnify releases cans that are gone in 2 hours and far superior IPAs hangs around at Carton, Rushing Duck, Industrial Arts...

 

Any idea if Sundae made it through the day?

 

Thoughts from those who have tried it already?

 

I can't imagine that it didn't. This is Carton. They brew enough beer so that it lasts longer than an hour. My guess is it makes it through the weekend
