2017 New Glarus Thread

Yep I did Friday as well so that did probably help just a bit.

 

Went to the BBBB release in 2015, had bottles in minutes and enjoyed a gorgeous day at a gorgeous brewery. It was a breeze and I'd go to all these releases if it wasn't ~5 hours round trip.

 

It is not a long wait at all. You don't need to show up early and line up (unless you want to bottle share or need to get to work). Now that NG strictly enforces only 2 bottles per person I don't think any of the releases sold out last year.

 

Awesome! Can't wait.

 

Yeah, it's by far the easiest and smoothest beer release. If BB Kriek drops though, it's smarter to get there earlier. They had/have a 1500 bottle allotment per day so that's 750 people. Make it 375 with boyfriends/girlfriends/grandparents. I think Wild Peach was the last one to sell out rather quickly but if you're there by 8 for the crazy fruit releases, you'll still be good.

 

Update on SR, they're saying the 24th now and 5 cases per account on the first drop.

 

It's in the depot now.

 

So is it really next week? Can someone in WI post when they see it outside of the depot?

Hell yeah guys thanks. Was already planning on venturing beyond the cheddar curtain Thursday, glad I'll be able to find some while I'm there.

 

@WIBeerSnob and others familiar with Milwaukee, I'm a Michigander who has a wife headed to your town this weekend with the kids. She's going to the Pabst Theater and is willing to make a stop to grab some New Glarus for me. I want the fruited bombers and would love strawberry rhubarb. I checked the new glarus site and they don't have the option to look for strawberry rhubarb. It looks like racks full of snacks on Wells is very close to the Pabst. Any better shops that are not far from her destination I should route her to instead? Thanks for your input!

 

If she's headed up 94 have her stop at Woodmans in Kenosha. It's right off the interstate. Load up the trailer.

 

You can get the NG fruit bombers just about anywhere. Every liquor/grocery store will carry it. As for Strawberry Rhubarb, I just got mine yesterday at Tosa Wine & Spirits. I'm sure select stores in SE Wisconsin will have a four pack available. However, I would listen to Vitacca...stop at Woodmans.

You can buy every new glarus release without issue (aside from R&D) in every single place in Wisconsin that sells beer to go. Liquor Stores, Grocery Stores, Bait Shops, and yes even gas stations.

For R&D releases. Unless its VSB or Peach again you can show up at 1pm and be done in 2 minutes.

This should cover every question that gets asked every year about NG. I know its strange in todays craft beer game but their beer is literlly too easy to find.

While that's true most of the time, a few of the mom and pop shops didn't get much strawberry rhubarb. The one store I frequent got 3 cases. I don't know how that compares to woodman's but it's at least the second shop I heard that didn't get much....

 

Ill be traveling to Minneapolis from Chicago on Saturday. Taking I90 to I94 and was wondering if there were any good spots right off the interstate which may have strawberry rhubarb on hand. Trying to grab some to drink.

 

As @jlsims04 mentioned above, literally anywhere. Or as I mentioned above, Woodmans. Does anyone read these threads anymore?

 

While this is true IT IS IN EVERY STORE IN WISCONSIN. Regardless of how much each individual store gets you can hit every gas station for a four pack through the whole state.
